Thank you so much. I watch many videos and try to fix the Y mainhoard and blow it up again. I could feel your sincerity and not making this video only for financial gain but to impart knowledge. Many blessings
I've searched a lot of videos about Y board and Buffer board problems and many say change both but your simple test to check for shorts has saved me from buying a new buffer board. I have already changed the Y board and it hasn't fixed the problem (standby light comes on but won't power on and green light stays on for 5 seconds just like in the video) so now I'm looking at the main power board but could do with knowing how to test it to see if it is working fine or not. There is a chance that the replacement board was faulty and I have tested four joints below a heat sink and two give readings and two don't. I then tested the original board and the same thing happened so I don't know if they are supposed to do that or they are both faulty with exactly the same fault (unlikely). As you can tell, this is not my day job and I've never used a multimeter before so I'm still in the dark here.
i have ordered a Y main board for my 51inch plasma my question is that when i removed the old board it had some sort of clear silicone lubricant on the backside that rests on the rubber mounts, i cleaned it off but should i replace the rtv silicone?
Samsung plasma model PS51D450A2MXXY IT stopped when a power plug came out of a power board then the TV wouldn't work. TV has power with red light on front and power supply has green flashing light in the back of the unit. TV has no sound just a black screen with small white lights throughout only visible in a complete dark room?
HI.i have a Philips plasma 50" with no power. replaced 4 zenith diodes on the Y main buffer but no voltages present on the power supply exept 5 volts is my power board bad? please help
i have a pn51d550 with a very similar problem and not sure if its the x-main or y-buffer board. it clicks once when plugged in and the screen gets lighter like the backlight is coming on. the red light on the front blinks and then turns off like on this vid and the screen goes all the way back to black. i opened her up and the logic board is blinking every second like normal. so would this be the x-main too. or is it the y-buffer? just need your advice. thanks ;)
Looking for thoughts from anyone that might know. I have a PS51D550 TV with a power supply part number BN44-00444B. The TV died completely and all troubleshooting suggested it was the power supply. So I bought one from a TV spares place which they said was compatible, part number BN44-00443B. When I installed the replacement and tested the TV it seemed to work so I put it back up on the wall. But...what happens now is that it resets every 5 minutes or so, no relay clicks, it just stops and then comes back on. I suspect that the replacement power supply, which came from a 270 Watt PS51D450 simply doesn't have enough grunt to power the 350 Watt PS51D550. A visual inspection of the two power supplies shows that they are almost identical, but with one small relay instead of 2 big ones, and one smallish capacitor instead of another big one. I'm thinking of just swapping over the relays and capacitor from one to the other, to see what happens, or even just the larger capacitor. I don't have a schematic, am interested if anyone knows enough about power supplies to comment?
