Wiring doesn't have to be scary. Follow along and watch how to repair the bulkhead and other electrical connectors, and see how they come apart so you can make repairs on your project. Wiring diagrams are scary to some, but are important for diagnosing electrical issues, so learning how to read one will help. Most factory service manuals will have the wiring diagrams, so go get one for your car!

Good for you. Never throwaway an old toothbrush and but electrical terminal cleaner like “CRC” brand. Wuurth brand is a German company but sell good stuff usual local dealer. Don’t forget Permatex brand dielectric grease for protecting terminals. Also, decades ago before I could afford good tools, but wiper blades had a pair of thin SS spring wire flat. Cut, bend finger loop, grind skinny tip that fit’s into the connector to push tab down. Pushing wire into connector reduces pressure on the tab, making it easy to release and pull out. Copper oxide is the green and acidic. Make a paste of baking soda & water, scrub with toothbrush helps clean shinny! Have a good one. DK, Omaha

Great video 👍👍. Do the terminals have a type name so they can be found to buy online 😊😊

Thanks! Yes, Packard 56 is the name of the terminal type.

Great video. Where did you get the closed fuse box from.

I think it came out of a 1990's, early 2000's model Toyota Corolla.

I have a short in the bulkhead connector to the fusible link so the car won’t start. Is there anything you can recommend that will help?

Use your multimeter to test the fusible link, if it’s blown, replace it. Then run through the power circuit to check for loose and corroded connections. That will create resistance, resistance created added draw and heat, causing the fusible link to blow.

Where are you buying your replacement bulk head terminals? Great information in this video. I really appreciate it.

I’m glad the info helped. I was getting them from eBay. Search for Packard 56 terminals. You’ll see different gauges, 16-14 gauge is what you’ll need for most of the wires in the bulkhead connector.

to clen them i have sure coca cola for corrosion. Let em sit for a bit then wipe down. Might use a wire brush for those tough grease stains and finally wipe them down with some rubbing alcohol. Some electrical grease to protect them a bit more. JUST A TAD BIT. and snap back into place. Anyone else do this or is it just me? I learned this awkward trick due to corrosion on batt wires and faulty connection on batt due to the corrosion.

I’ve used CokaCola on battery terminals before, it works pretty well, but baking soda and water work much better. I do use dielectric grease on connectors and on the bulbs, they help keep the contacts clean.

@@RogersABodyGarage I'll have to give that a go. Thanks! Currently trying to replace the harnesses on a 73 Duster. Shame the plastic is too far gone to repair. Plus it's missing a few wires/connections. It's been played with in a not so fun way

@@DaddyManny09 I don’t think these guys have the plastic connectors for the bulkhead, but they have everything else. www.detroitmuscletechnologies.com/73-76-duster/
