Thanks, dropped similar budget amazon ones in sink, clamp or plastic holding spring broke or down sink in my case. Drilled a hole in center square then put a small screw, washer and then a nut on the outside to keep secure. Seems ok, the paperclip method and breakdown gave me inspiration I needed to know wasnt wasting time

Appreciate you putting this out there, I gained just enough insight from watching how your spring worked to figure out where and how my wahl assembly fit together. Saved me at least 15 bucks ordering a new one, at least if i didn't mess up sharpening it somehow, lol. Thanks again!

you have many followers and have great mechanical repairs, teaching skills. Wonder if you could expand instructions to disassembly of the covers to replace internal battery. Problem instructions how to disassemble covers that have no exposed screws to access. It seems some covers hide internal battery by glued on or snap together covers that are solid locked. Using a sharp knife to pry loose plastic covers often end up a disaster with broken chipped covers. Is there any tricks to disassemble plastic covers that have no screws but only show the top bottom connection points as a razor blade line? Only an Xray view can look inside how to access the worn out rechargeable battery...
