How to Replace 2017 Chevy Cruze Radio Display

Same - dealership seems timid to unlock but wants $200 whether it works or not... Anyone gain insight?

You need some kind of codes. I know a guy so he said he’ll help me do it when the new one comes in

Try asking the people you bought it from about the codes

Remove the cover where the push button is. Its held by clips aswell very easy. Also same for passenger side remove plastic piece with the vinyl that goes above your glove box and you should have easy access to the inside bolts

@@porkchopaldridge4498 Yes sir I did. You can go to Waze with it. First you can buy a factory direct radio and then have to have it programmed for your car which will cost you anywhere from $250-$500. Second you can find a Radio on eBay or somewhere that is in working order take it to your dealership where they will send it off and have it completely erased for $100 and then have them reprogram it for your car and installed that will run you $200-$300. That’s the circumstances I have come across in trying to fix this. Good luck.

I bought my used Diplay radio from LKQ. The VIN numbers were different on them since they come from different vehicles. I live in Midwest region. Our Chevy Dealer unlocked mine for about $165 charge I think.

I suggest you try a bigger, better, more experienced Chevy Dealership. But be careful not to waste your money. Good Luck!

You would have to remove both of the covers from the driver the little piece that is about a 3x2 and passenger side the piece that runs across the dash to access those screws

Is it the same for the 2018?

I left the new radio display in the car and took my car to Chevy Dealership. The dealer technician there unlocked the radio for me while the radio display was in the car. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Hey there. There are at least 8 different Display options here usually. There are 7 inch and 8 inch options. There are Sirius XM radio or without options, Coice Control or without options. So I suggest you check yours and check with the Chevy Dealership on the correct part number. So 8 displays will be different and may not be the right fit for your vehicle. Hope this helps. Hello, this was a project car with branded Rebuilt Title car, thus the warranty was voided. So the factory would not cover it. Since it was not my personal car I avoided spending extra $$$ on speakers. I decided to just keep it all OEM and sell it. Thank you for sharing the good tips!

I bought mine from LKQ that came off of another 2017 Chevy Cruze. You can also try buying it from a Chevrolet Dealership, current price is around $600 or so. I do not like the dealership price as it is too high. You can also search it on car-part.com to see if any businesses around you have them for sale. Good Luck!

Dereck Perez there are 2 clips on either side of the usb/auxiliary port you have to press in and then it slides out, if you have the 2018 model

I bought the radio used just a year old from LKQ Parts recycler. It was already programmed inside. I did not pay for having it programmed. However I paid Chevrolet Dealership to get the radio unlocked after I installed it. The radio gets hard locked on the screen after you install it on another car, theft safety feature apparently! I say Chevy money making feature for Chevy Stealership! Hope this helps. Good luck!

So how much did they charge you to unlock it because mines says locked to I don’t kno if it need programmed or not
