Great video, will be attempting my first HDMI port replacement this week, got job on as someone has previously had an attempt at it though soldered wrong just hoping the solder pads ain't knackered.. thanks so much for video wasn't overly confident I could do this though seeing your video has giving more confidence..

I've watched others methods so far and I find this very useful as well. I especially found actually useful the way you attached the pins first. If you think about it attaching the mounts first could actually mess up the lining of the individual pins if not the pins themselves. I think this was a really helpful video tbh. Thank you for taking the time to educate others friend!!

Amazing video. There was only one thing that baffled me. At 21:55 in the bridge removial process what was the difference between that soldering iron and the one one used frames before?

Thanks Andrew - well spotted.. I use two soldering irons, one simply has a larger tip than the other. It was quicker to remove the bridge with a larger tip

Ok, so I did this step-by-step near perfectly. My HDMI port is perfectly fine from what I can tell...I pushed the tension brackets in a tiny bit in hopes the cable isn't being held in place tightly enough. As of right now, I have my PS4 arrayed on my kitchen table and I'm pondering taking it to an electronics/game store and get a second opinion.... As I said, everything looks fine D:

@@thepsplayer6039 The tension brackets were too loose. I used an eyeglass repair flat head to bend them back up. Even then I had to set something under the HDMI cord to have it propped at an angle to make a full connection.

CAUTION........There are small components on the motherboard near where the hdmi socket is mounted, particularly on the underside....These can be loosed, fall off or became damaged by hot air, when removing or replacing the socket..☹ Best cover all the relevant components in that area with Alfoil or some form of heat shielding.😀.

Thanks for the video, I was able to successfully change the HDMI port. The only problem now is that the console no longer recognizes a controller. This was not the case before. I've tried 20 different cables and different controllers and even a new one from Amazon, nothing helps. Funnily enough, I can connect the controller via USB cable when the PS4 is in security mode. Repairing the database etc. didn't solve the problem either, when I try to reinstall the firmware via USB, I get the error message "SU-41283-8". Does anyone have any idea what I can do?

I would double check your connections on the internal cables when you put it back together - the above error can point to the PS4 not being able to see your optical drive, so double check you have securely re-connected all the ribbon cables. Also, with the controller, make sure you have connected the WIFI ariel cables correctly

May be an idea to watch Alex at Northridge fix. He seems to do the same thing in a much easier way.

Easier doesn't mean best. For those who be learning this stuff it's pretty important to show all the steps... It's a good and very useful tool for those who try to cut corners and yield no result. Makes it very useful to know where you might of went wrong and how to repair that also
