Thanks for watching bud, yes thats an option. But if you notice, the ground wire guage thicker. You could just simply move pin 4 to pin 3 and just splice in the bigger ground wire at the end. The problem with that is by the time you try to open up the connector to do that, its ruined. That is one of the tightest connector to open up even with with proper tools. But good point

The primary pump it the main pump on the drivers side. What problems are you having? Also are you subscribed to the channel?

@@OnlineMechanicTips the fuel level is reading right after changing the fuel pump. I didn’t prime the fuel pump after changing. It will try to crank but will not. I turnover the key to crank it will not attempt anything. ONE SOLUTION I READ: Must prime new fuel pump to push out air in fuel lines! Turn key to run 15 seconds then off at least 6 or more times. Also if this doesn’t work then it is probably a ground issue or a blockage from air. Check wires at fuel pump connectors! (Black ground had came lose from connector on fuel supply line you talked about in 2020.) I just pushed it back into the socket and the fuel pump read fine (I know at some point I got to either rebuild that connector myself or order a new one and retire it!). I will try that priming first (Which I heard you must do to the fuel pump). I will then go from there. Next I will tackle the connector. I WAS A AVIATION ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN IN THE NAVY SO I KNOW HOW TO BUILD ELECTRIC CONNECTORS.

FCA and all their jean-yuss decided the positive and negative cables were too close so they moved the number 4 wire to the number 3 spot. Evidently the old location causes the pumps to prematurely fail. Mine didn't go out until almost 170k though 😂

@@KMSTLSAPRANO It came in the oem mopar fuel pump kit. Your year model may not require it. Not all models require it so they will let you know in the box if the connector beed to be replaced

So my issue may not be the connector

Its part of the fuel pump on most newer cars like this one.

Perhaps. But the new harness packet call for a different size gauge wire on some terminals now.

lol, good point..But keep in mind. Thats the original pump, lasted about 140k I think that was the miles on this car.

There's a lil square box on ya screen that will allow you to stop it and just move on to another video..if you watching this vid its likely ya car won't start, I would imagine you should listen to every word
