How do you remember how to put all the bolts and electrical plugs when it's time to put the engine back together? This is just insane number of bolts and plugs..i could never imagine myself to remember all this. Anyways..amazing work. Can't wait to watch the rest. Thank you for making such a detailed video.
Put you hardware with your parts. It's easier to remember when you're the one who took them out. Just don't wait too long before putting it back together or you might forget. I've done that plenty of times, especially at work when I might do 4 or 5 other cars before I reassemble and old project.
Very instructional, and a CALM voice, ever think about teaching automotive classes?....Now if you could only find a Nissan Sentra to work on, which is my vehicle, thanks for posting.
My eng overheated something awful, can see black/brown scorching on cylinder cover and on exposed cams. Have not fully taken it apart to take measurments of cylinder and block for warpage but was curious if there's likely any hope even my block is going to be salvageable. If i dont find any warps, it good to just change the cylinder head and hope for the best or am i likely wasting my time just trying to go cylinder head only?
HELP PLEASE!!! I'm working on an 05 Hyundai Elantra. And, I'm trying to replace the variable timing solenoid that plugs into the front of the head, just under the valve cover, near the timing chain, which is inside the motor. The outer half of the solenoid came off and the other half is still in the head. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET IT OUT?!?! PLEASE HELP!!!
I have the same engine on my 2003 Elantra through an engine swap. My problem is that my wiring harness doesn't include the plugs that are connected to the front of the head. It's the solenoid and the sensor below it. Just wondering if you have any advice for me. Thanks.
Yes. It’s a dual overhead cam design with a single timing belt pulley. Timing belt connects one camshaft connected to the camshaft, the chain keeps the second camshaft connected to the first.
