A leaking vacuum breaker is usually easy to replace if you don't have a set screw to worry about. Otherwise you may have to drill out or cut out the set screw.

Few tips I learned about the set screw. Read the instructions, sometimes it's not required and it snapping off to make it permanent is entirely optional. or if it is required, get a 5mm screw that needs a hex key L wrench to replace the set screw, when it goes bad simply twist it out.

Do you know what material that vacuum breaker is made of? Looks like stainless steel or is just plated with brass/copper underneath. The set screw is broken off as it should have been, but that set screw is facing the side of the house and I have no way to get access to it with a drill, dremel cutting wheel . Stumped. It won't budge either way trying to get it off or at least move 1/4 turn. Been soaking w/ PB Blaster and some stuff that I use inside to keep calcium and lime build up off faucets in the house. Two days later and still nothing. It wont move.

I can’t say for sure what the material is so I won’t guess. And I’m not really sure what the solution would be for your situation. That’s a tough one if you can’t have access to drill it out. Maybe somebody else will chime in with a good idea. Sorry I can’t help.

The easiest option is to drill it out. Just be careful not to drill too deeply or you’ll destroy the threads on the faucet

It is suppose to break once you install the Bib. However if you wanna change it then you have to saw it with a rotary blade and replace with a new one. Don’t be scared it happens all the time

Safe way is use a rotary tool like a dremel to cut a slit in middle of the screw just deep enough for flat head screwdriver to fit in order to unscrew the nut
