Here’s my DIY video on how to replace a plug socket in the UK. Changing your power outlet faceplates is a quick & easy way to jazz up any room.
Always consult a qualified electrician when dealing with your own electrics and ensure the power is isolated in your home when changing an outlet.

Always consult a qualified electrician before working on electrics in your home - this includes this video. Metal plug sockets must be earthed. The changing of the power outlet in this video is specific to the electrical configurations in my UK based home, which may vary to yours. I am not a qualified electrician and so this video should be watched for guidance only.

Our socket had two live, two neutral and three earth wires. Two earth wires were connected on one side of the socket and one on the other. The new socket we bought only has one earth terminal. Is it ok to connect all three earth wires to the one terminal?

My right socket is blocked won't allow me to put a plug in fully only about half way would taking it off allow me to unblock?

I would use a multi meter to double check no current or non contact meter reader.

could you not also plug something into the socket and try turning the device on to make sure theres no current running through the socket? incase you dont have a multi meter tool

So Britain home electric is 13 amps and 250 volts.. please confirm..

first off safe isolation and prove dead with a proving unit , lock off mcb or main switch , grommet okay not the worst thing as the cable wont move but good practice i would re terminate them connections they already have screw damage to the conductor and make off so the copper is not on show if you wanna go full out check the terminals with a calibrated torque driver

From what I understand if your doing it for a customer you supposed to issue a minor works cert even if you done a socket test example loop test r1+r2 insulation test rcd test think there's a couple of other tests two rather makes the job rather expensive

I wouldn't have any uninsulated copper shown. Better to fully cover the copper and trim back wires.

A lot of people are wondering why he replaced the socket for an unattractive white socket. I would imagine this is because the white one was bought cheap and just used as a demonstration socket.

EVERYONE BE CAREFUL THIS GUY ISNT MENTIONING IMPORTANT PARTS THAT COULD KILL YOU. DO NOT RELY ON THE FUSE BOX TURNING OFF YOUR ELECTRICITY. SOMETIMES BAD WIRING CAN MEAN THAT THE SOCKET IS STILL LIVE EVEN THOUGH YOU TURNED IT OFF AT THE MAINS. JUST SAYING "MAKE SURE THE ELECTRICITY IS OFF AT THE MAIN" SHOULD OF BEEN FOLLOWED UP BY "MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A DEVICE TO DOUBLE CHECK THERE IS NO POWER COMING TO THE SOCKET" YOU CAN DO THIS MANY TOOLS JUST GOOGLE ELECT MAINS TESTER SCREW DRIVER

Are you a qualified electrician? Where is the earth to the back of the box? Just because it was not there in old socket does not mean you do not have to fit an earth. If you don't know what you are doing why film yourself doing it wrong?
