Got a URo tank mike exploded too… well. It’s leaking on the nipple/hose connection on top expansion tank. That hose is fairly new within a year. Not what issue is maybe not a good deal with uro? I’ve used uro in past for lots always had good impressions with them
No offense to anyone at URO, but they don't have a great reputation. I've used some of their parts in non-critical applications and run across them for suspension before where it's lasted about 1/3 to 1/4 as long as the OEM brands. The expansion tanks in many BMWs seem to have issues regardless of brand; the one that failed in mine was genuine BMW. For your leak, you have to be careful when installing the hose. It seals using an o-ring which can be easily torn on installation. Since you have a URO tank, it's also possible the dimensions are slightly off causing it not to seal properly. I've seen that with other aftermarket parts.
hello, had the same issue that the tank exploded.. after i bought a new one and tryed to bleed it there was no water coming out that little hole at 8:00 min.. do yu know what that could be ?
It's an Android app I wrote called "Chesapeake Logger." Unfortunately Google has been kicking small developers off the Play store, including me so it's not currently available. I'm working in a solution to that which will either be a direct download or I have to reapply for the Play store and be subject to their new requirements including 20 testers before I can publish to the public app store. As a behind the scenes look, that all costs money and I am (well, was) offering these apps for free - that's where the affiliate links help!
I know it's contentious, but I've been running prestone for 17 years and haven't seen any ill effects from it. Two of the cars on this channel I've owned since 2006 and 2008 so I think it's pretty safe to say it doesn't cause any severe harm. BMW's material science isn't special so it shouldn't be surprising that green coolant works fine. I run it out of convenience but if you prefer to stick with the OE stuff, go for it.
