Great instructions! Literally could not have done this without such a great video. Just bought my 2008 Spec-V. I didn't even know there was such a thing as a "cabin air filter" until now. I would like to have a long talk with the engineers who designed it's location. I almost dislocated my shoulder trying to get the new one in without destroying it!

Your instructions are MUCH more clear than other videos. I'll be replacing the cabin filter in my daughter's Sentra, and this makes me glad for owning our Hondas - you access the cabin filter behind glove compartment, MUCH easier.

Great video and very easy to follow. I've had my car since 2010 and have never changed the cabin air filter....I didn't even know that I had one other than the other air filter under the hood. It only cost me $10 for an almost $100 job. BTW for others who are reading this, I have an '07 Sentra.

Thanks for your video. Dealership wanted $95 to change this. The filter was $8.99 at the auto parts store and took 5 minutes switch out. I hadn't changed it for 60k miles. It was absolutely filthy and filled with dead leaves (in response to people saying they have never replaced it). Glad i replaced it when i did.

Great video for my 2012 Sentra SE, thx!!! Am I the only one who things this is one of the dumbest places to put a filter? I hate having to bend and fold my brand new clean filter to shove it in place. And I never know if it went in evenly or if it still remained bent or clummped...whatever. If it wasn't for helpful videos like this I would just assume that I was the dummy. Not Sentra.

Not changing these allow dust to build up, on the aluminum coils of the evaporator causing them to oxidize and wear holes in it from the moisture it puts out. The evaporator is the really expensive part of the ac system to replace. Cuz you have to remove so much of the dash to get to it.

If something that smells bad were to get sucked up into the vehicle then the cabin filter would catch it. It's quite possible that you vehicle has sucked up something. I would look at the cabin filter to see if there is anything to worry about.

OK I just bought a 2022 Sentra. Is the filter changed the same way? This video is ten years old, have they altered it in the meantime?

The 2022 model takes our cabin air filter AQ1290 and the installation process is a little different.

The 00-06 Sentra's have one behind the glove box but the newer models use this filter.

Hi! I have a Nissan Sentra 2012. Every day when i turn on the AC a bad odor comes out of the ac vents. Like humidity. After few moments this odor goes away, only happens when the car is park for several hours. The dealer said its a in cabin ac filter. Its possible this happens with 3.5K miles??

The cabin filter door should've been on the passenger side. This is why mechanics should be checking the specs before cars are put into production.

Luckily it seems like Nissan learned its lesson... somewhat. Most modern Nissans have it on the opposite side in the corner of the passenger footwell. Still difficult to get to, but at least there are not pedals in the way.

Yes, I just lost my Honda in an accident and was lucky to find a new Sentra on a lot 77 miles away as an immediate replacement. This looks a bit more awkward than the Honda cabin air filter that didn't have to be deformed and sat behind the glove compartment.

Regarding replacing the cabin filter on my Sentra, the owner's manual only instruction is to take your car to an authorized Nissan Service Center and let them replace it. Uh huh.
