I worked on a couple of small interior items this time. Much easier less dirty work involved which was a nice change of pace for me.
My windshield wiper combination switch was broken and would sit in the down position all the time constantly keeping the windshield wipers on.
The door panel had seen better days. Being an Arizona car its entire life the sun did plenty of damage to the top of the panel.
My old steering wheel was ok but wasn't what I wanted on there. The Personal wheel is a Grinta 350mm in polyurethane. I got the polyurethane material because I plan on bringing this wheel in/out of work with me and that material will hold up to abuse better. I bought the wheel from JHPUSA.com for $140.
The NRG hub and quick release are top notch! I love the NRG hub accessories, they are reasonably priced and constructed well.

My mistake, the handle isn't separate, just noticed in my car. Must have been thinking of some other car. And yeah, maybe I saw wrong anyways.

You make awesome videos! I have a little tip on something that was puzzling me for a little while: how to get your rear hatch quiet. This may be obvious and simple for some, but I had tried various different things to make a squeak go away. Thought it was the spare, the speakers, the rubber, I tried everything and eventually sprayed wd40 into the latch and it went away. Duh! Also adjusted the part of the latch attached to the door to make it close tighter, adjusted the rubber so all 4 contact perfectly and added some thick plastic tape to where they touch. All quiet in the back now. Finally, lol.

Wow, thanks for this comment. My wagon does have some squeaking issues in the back. I fixed one (rear windshield wiper was contacting the window) a long time ago, but there is still squeaking. I haven't really done much TLC work to the wagon yet but hope to have all of the mechanical items fixed soon so I can really get into just cleaning it and detailing it. I'm going to try both of these techniques!

I drove with that squeaking and rattling hatch for a year, lol. Now that it's quiet I don't think of it anymore, peace of mind. Also installed new struts for the door and it lifts itself open now. Little things like that, that you use all the time, make a big difference... Funny to see how easy it is to change the wiper control. My 91 LX sedan had the same problem but I just ducktaped a small piece of cardboard on it to keep it from falling down and turning on the wipers. Stayed like that for many years until I sold it, lol. Wish I had taken the time to swap the power windows, locks and cruise control into my wagon, and the intermittent wiper is much better, but I had to get rid of it...

That's the only thing I do not like about the wagons, no power locks or windows. I saw a video by Honda Street Garage where they swapped an entire harness for the cruise control, I can't remember if they did the power window option also already.

man, your videos are just the best. I FINALLY got a 90 Si that i'm just assessing for the rebuild (starting with mechanical stuff first obvi). Any suggestions on headrest fixes? I JUST noticed mine are WAY loose.

Thanks! Try to replace the plastic piece that holds them in place. Other than that I'm not sure. I've never had to deal with loose headrests before.

Thanks Shane, yes I'm about 600 west of you out in El Paso. If you ever come out this way, let me know. The clips are generic. I just a checked, in the search window type in "civic door panel clips". I found one listing for 100 clips for $9.96 and there are much smaller amounts for less too.

Did you retain "auto cancelling" turnsignal functionality with that hub setup? That's my only complaint with my steering wheel, is that I lost the auto cancel function. Sometimes I'll be a mile or two down the road and realize my blinker is still on, lol.

Yes, it still works perfectly fine. The mechanical piece is still in there and the new hub slides over it similar to the way the old steering wheel did.

Depends, they sell kits that come with the hub and QR. You can pick and choose.

Hey bud been having trouble finding a video on the 91 crx door lock cylinder replacement, courious if you might know anywhere or know how, seem knoledgible with these Honda's.

Use this video to remove your door panel. Then once there, you'll see it's so easy to remove the door lock cylinder with a screwdriver pulling down the c-clip around the lock. Once that's removed the lock comes right out.

When removing the door panels with power windows / door locks, especially the front driver’s side door; since the window switches are separate from the power door lock, do I have to remove the piece for the window switches like I do with the piece for the door handle or do they stay on the door panel? If the switches have to be removed, how do I do it since there’s no screws? Do I have to pry it off?

You just unplug them and they come off with the panels.

I've never done it but a good friend said you need to swap the rails which hold the windows. I don't know which rails but it shouldn't be hard to figure out with both regulators in front of you.

Hey I’m back with another question. Did you ever have trouble straightening out the hub to get the steering whee perfectly straight? I’ve tried 5 times and I can’t seem to get it. It’s always a little to te left or right.
