Get your car key body replaced without buying a whole new key!
It doesn't take much for these keys to start looking scruffy. For a few quid and a few minutes of your time you can get it looking like new and for a lot less than Ford would charge you.

How important do you think that little pad is in the old case? I didnt transfer it to the new one but it works fine. Im curious why it was needed, its not for heat and the clearance is more than sufficient.

Oliver a better way to open, 1:39 you use a thin coin 2p for exemple and pry no the side but in front. There is a edge you can fir the coin and pry very easy. It's like that you supposed to be open.

How did you change the metal componets? Mainly the longer one that the battery sit under

if I recall correctly I just pried them out and then used a little glue to secure them in the new key body.

@@OliverJobson I hope it’s easy. I’ve changed the batteries so know how to open the key but prying the metal bits off and reglue’ing them in worries me. That said both my keys are falling apart so willing to try it instead of being fleeced by Ford. I ordered based on this video. 🤞
