If you want to pick up the hubs I used you can find them here: amzn.to/3xEQ8AH
Today we replace front hubs! I demonstrate this on a 2006 titan but this video applies to an array of different Nissan trucks/SUVs. The only differences will be the torque specs and whether or not you have 4WD. If you have a 2WD its even easier. You won't have to remove the axel!! Reminder, these steps will work for many Nissans. Just be sure to check the torque specs as they will vary from one vehicle to another. These same steps will apply to (of similar model years):
Nissan Armada
Nissan Xterra
Nissan Frontier
Nissan Pathfinder
Nissan Navara
Nissan NP300
Nissan Paladin
Nissan Roniz
Infiniti QX56

Bro this video saved Me a mountain of aggravation, so lemme return the favor. 2010 Frontier, before jacking loosen axle nut, then remove wheel, remove 2 caliper bracket bolts, remove caliper & rotor as a unit, secure on an upside down 5 gallon pail & slide out of Your way, spray hub mount with Liquid Wrench, remove 4 bolts securing hub, take 2lb sledge & pound the SIDE of spindle bearing housing until it falls out. No need to remove CV Shaft, just clean spindle housing with Scotch Brite & reassemble. 90 minutes both sides done & down the road 😊👍

Great video, it was not necessary to release the upper control arm and knuckle . This job can be done with the knuckle and cv axle in place. I have done it on my 2008 pathfinder. Lucky you for removing the hubs so easily. Mine took a half day as they were rusted like crazy.

I had a lot of trouble getting to the bolts on the rear with the axle on the way. That's why I pulled it out. Yea the hub was really easy on the driver side.

Hi all, Ry, thank you again for such an informative video. As stated above, i did not need to remove the sxle or release the knuckle to remove the hub assembly (4 bolt pattern on a 2015 4x4 Xterra) as the bolts were all accessible on both sides. Glad it's over but again thank you.

Thank you for the briefing & demo. I’ve a ‘15 Frontier. I’ve all frontend components (both hubs, swaybar bushings & links, 4 control arms, tie rod ends and 2 ld’d struts) on hand. Just informing myself to develop an efficient order of operation, for smooth execution. Again, thank you for sharing.

I live in Michigan where everything is heavily rusted, and I've never had a vehicle come apart that easy. Lucky you

Trust me, I know your pain. I lived in Michigan (just outside ann arbor) for 20 years and that's where I learned to work on cars. Working on rust free Florida cars feels like retirement. LOL/

Wow I am jealous.. lol almost everything is rust free !! it must be so nice to work on the truck where there is little as possible rusty bolts.. few weeks back I attempted to change my passenger cat converter I broke off or/and cut off 3 bolts because they were so rusty.. I wish I had grinder so I could actually finish the job but oh well.. for the next project.. I need to get one.. as I am thinking to do suspension swap..
@Rythecarguy
@Rythecarguy 3 года назад
Yuck! Exhaust is annoying enough to work on without all the rust. Good luck with the swap. Bring a lot of PB Blaster and a lot of patience. It will work out.

@@Rythecarguy Oh man tell me about it.. I used tons of PB Blaster the night before.. still was not able to get the job done.. I mean I disassembled everything to about 90% but it was fun doing anyways.. had better luck with rusty bolts during my radiator swap lol

Only thing I would say is don't put the grease on the internal splines on the new hub but rather put it on the male end of the axle. By doing it that way you virtually remove the chance of getting grease on your threads, which is bad when it comes time to put the axle nut back on.
@cliffdowner8554
@cliffdowner8554 4 месяца назад
Hey fyi you don’t have to separate the knuckle remove the axle nut then knock the axle back with a dead blow it will go in about 4 5 inches this gives enough room to get a swivel socket on the hub retainer bolts

Nice work. What kind of Wheel Bearing Hub did you go with? I'm thinking of going with Tinker as I keep hearing Moog parts are a hit or mis parts "50% Chance" made in USA. Also keep hearing quality issues with Moog? At least on the bearings that is. Do you know the Torque specs on the hub bearing bolts for a Nissan frontier 06 4.0 SE Crew Cab? Thanks again for another great video.

I wonder if the titan hubs are a direct swap to a frontier/ xterra? If so, so many more wheel options!
@Rythecarguy
@Rythecarguy 3 года назад
Unfortunately they are not, I'm Titan hubs have three giant bolts and the Xterra hubs have four smaller bolts

Thank you for sharing your knowledge... i have a question..so when you take axial did you loss rod balanced? that will cause steering wheel not matching with wheels?
@Rythecarguy
@Rythecarguy 3 года назад
No, it will not lose that. You will only lose that when you take off the tie rod ends

Thanks for all the Nissan content, Ry. This is a black hole for DIY knowledge and aftermarket support. Speaking of which, I have a 2011 Frontier (60k miles) and need to replace tires and will replace wheels, too. My dilemma is that I have an off-road mini trailer with a 6x139.7 bolt pattern and it would be convenient to have both truck and trailer on the same bolt patterns to reduce how many spares I need to travel with. The bonus of course is the endless choices for 6x139.7 wheels, too. Am I crazy to consider replacing the Frontier hubs to match? Is this even possible? I installed the ADO full lift kit a few months ago and will soon replace/upgrade my upper and lower control arms. Thanks.
