Thanks , I did this without lifting the vehicle or removing any tires. Dealer quoted me 1600.00 for the lights and labor. I got the lights off of eBay for 320.00 . You helped me save 1300.00

Best, most methodical and thorough procedural tutorial I've seen for a GM SUV! This mechanic knows all the tips to carefully and safely replace a GM headlight assembly without damaging the vehicle. Great video. This is ridiculous. What should be an easy 2-minute job GM turned into a couple of hours. Now all I have to do is find a garage, jacks, tools, and a friend apparently.

Thanks for the video. I had to replace the drivers side headlight assy today. The DRL reflector melted and disintegrated in the capsule. While I did not remove the bumper I did remove some of the screws around the fender, the screws in the top of the grill and removed the fender wheel liner. This gave me access to replace it, still took me two and a half hours. Thanks again.

Good video, great step by step instructions. If you can lift the vehicle safely and remove the tires, that'll make your life so much easier. I was able to follow these instructions without lifting and without removing the front tires, I waited until I was just about to remove the bumper and unplug the fog lights before disconnecting the battery. I also didn't have a ratcheting wrench, so it was extremely slow to remove the inner front bolt for each lamp. Found out the metal frame around the top of thw radiator is only 6 more screws and it comes eight off, giving you easy access to ratchet the inner bolts. Hate those plastic tabs. They're the DEVIL.

I replaced my light bulbs through the wheel well cover. Remove 4 screws, pulled the wheel well back and reach in with your arm. Turn the wheel for more space. 10 minutes...guaranteed!

you do not have to go threw all that to change a headlight go threw the wheel well but to change out the housing this just saved my ass and I will recommend to anyone to use your videos to help with these projects

Well really some cars have 3 clips and one harness then you just pull out the assembly. Acadia is just a POS in general.

Holy shit, that's a LOT to do just to change the damned headlight! You have to disassemble the entire front half of the vehicle just for one bulb! This is an excellent, detailed video and I know you guys didn't design the vehicle. But, DAMN!

You need to order the Xenon HID headlights on ebay. It's more expensive. I had the same issue. 1A -auto doesn't carry this headlights for 2007 Acadia.

Hello. i have a problem with low beam shining too little on my 2008 GMC acadia. I put the 12 v direct from the battery but it remains the same, what I see is that these headlights do not have ballasts either of the two, where the ballast goes, it has a cover. Could anyone help me. the headlight physically looks great on the outside and inside.

Any other people did this and find out the new headlights have a different wire harness that will not connect to the one on the car the newer headlights come with a skinny long harness the one on my gmc Acadia are more square

+John Jackson There was Halogen and HID Headlights offered from the factory on this Acadia that the video is referencing. Have you confirmed which type of headlights you have and which type you purchased? The different types are not compatible with each other.

I order new headlights from you guys, high/low beam work, but the parking/turn signal lights don't work. I tried two different bulbs for each. I noticed the original paring light bulb housing has three wires, while the new assembly has only two. WTH guys......

Who disconnects the battery when replacing a headlight?! The easy way to replace an Acadia head lamp is to go through the wheelwell. This is a Denali, so it might be more complicated than a regular Acadia.

Holy crap!!! That is so much harder than it has to be. Start Car, point wheels away from the headlight you want to remove. Turn car off. Remove the 4 T-20 screws on the front edge of the inner well liner. Reach in and uncap the back headlight cap. Holy smokes, this video just keep ....... on ...... going ...... on ....... and ...... on. So many other videos, that are better. Just did this on my Acadia and I spent 5 - 10 minutes total working time for both lights.

Some "insert your favorite expletive here" deliberately designed this vehicle, with intent to boost corporate profits. They do this on purpose, when something as simple as a light bulb goes out you buy a new vehicle. Nowadays all manufacturers resort to such shady tricks, but GM/Chevy, Range Rover, Mini Cooper (bmw) are notorious about it.

I went through the wheel well and accidentally knocked off the metal spring retaining clip.. that took me 2 hours to reinstall- by feel since you have zero visibility .. nuts

This is absolutely ridiculous for a car maker that has been making cars for over 100 years. When you make something that should be so simple this complicated; it is a sign of the inherent stupidity which exists in the company from top to bottom. The only reason they are still able to exist is from customer loyalty built on the decent reputation they had years ago. Any of the big 3 automakers (Chev, dodge, ford) are the bottom 3 on my list for a car when shopping for one; and they have gone out of their way to deserve that comment.

Did you know the engineers from GMC had a week long summit to design the worse scenario to replace a headlight. After a week of meetings, they realized they had found it. My Malibu takes 5 minutes tops and my dog can do it.

Are you remodeling the truck?😂😂 You did not have remove bumper and other parts to replace light bulb. All you needed to do was remove at most tire, yo get to light bulb. You could've also turned wheel and remove inner fender cover. You just showed me how mechanics rip people off
