The fact that he took a seemingly broken and unrepairable headlight and used an open flame and didn't damaged the frame or the plastic and made it look like brand new is just remarkable. Kudos to that man right there.
He’s clearly very skilled at this work, the end product looks a lot better than if I tried it for sure. He’d fire me on the first day. That Mylar for the reflector and the old battery clamps, pretty genius! Also, this young man has an impressive head of hair! 😄
I'm constantly amazed at how basic their work environments are yet how impressive their personal presentation is. Seeing the children go to school each day with not a hair out of place and beautiful clean clothes.
I just love these guys. Setting on the floor bringing something back to life. One mans junk is another mans job. Great job. Even with despair in his eyes. Stay strong dude. I think all these guys are very honorable. And have my respect way over some fat rich person. Gods speed and peace.
@@XxgoodbudsxX most people get rich by taking advantage of other people, and being greedy and corrupt. Guarantee there are very few honest rich people.
The reflector is probably the hardest to get right. Given the tools at hand, nicely done. Headlights are not designed to be repairable so this is no easy feat. Well done sir.
here ,the labour is cheap ..thats how they are able to do so. or hence is always advice to apply stickers on the headlights or replacement is the option ..
Incredible ending that headlight. After being completely trash, this man brought it back to life in such an amazing way. Congrats for your effort, ability and perfection at work!
The fact he can seperate the butyl with an open flame and not damage the light is just amazing. And for anyone who doesn’t know CA glue (super glue) and baking soda is what they use to repair chips on an aircraft, ether it be nose, wing ect ect, it’s actually a really really strong bond
I don't know where did you get that info, but even if somebody does this on an aircraft, it is temporary and only serves to fill micro-dents, just to preserve aero dynamics, not repair actual structural damages to the fuselage.
Very impressive considering how hard it is to work with these, and the fact they are made to be scrapped when worn out or cracked. Nice craftsmanship here. 👌🏼

@@vulcano911 It is something humans do naturally from childhood, but most westerners have developed our musculature differently, because we don't have the cultural habit of sitting this way. We are so accustomed to sitting on chairs, that most of us can't sit on the ground anymore. It's like I learned that people before modern times walked on their tip-toes. This was before shoes with heels were invented, and it made it so that people had a completely different posture. If you look at antique and medieval paintings and sculptures, you can see this, but most people just assume it is some kind of stylised depiction. No, turns out people walked on their tip-toes just like small children do.
You don't work you go hungry, Here in the west work is a option, A life choice!!In my opinion this is part of the many reasons Britain is failing and in decline such a shame!!!😢
Not to sound dismissive, but this is the equivalent of detailing dirty interior in a car. Any headlight restoration video will produce these results. Even toothpaste restoration videos. I was hoping to see the patch disappear, but you can still see it pretty well in the last shots
@@zoesheck Where did I suggest any of that? I started out by saying "not to sound dismissive" meaning not to dismiss what he's done to the light. Just because he comes from a poor country doesn't mean he's incapabale or less than, but the majority of what he's done is cleaning it up. Like I said, had he fused the plastic together and made the seam dissappear, I would absolutly find that impressive.
@@Moises-kf1hg there’s no way to make that seam disappear. Whatever bonding method is used will create a seam. Or a discolored line where the two plastics bond. Yes, the cleaning part is not anything new, but the repair is the best possible.
I love the idea of recycling, I guess in some places it's out of necessity but we generally have become a 'throw away ' society. Very satisfying to see the skills displayed here.
This is when you get poor, than you find out, you have a brain and hands.. This is what they have to do,.. He whats light, he gets light, but do not ask if this will do a correct light spreading,... But respect to them at all...he solved the problem at there standart...
I love seeing how people in other countries actually fix things instead of buying a new one. Some of my old cars have no parts availability so I might need this!
I've repaired lights before. Its NOT easy. They are designed to be scrapped, so well done young fella. Great workmanship and excellent recycling skills. I genuinly believe if we watched you, western industries and their practiced could relearn what we have lost.
Nah, there's nothing to learn here. That light is utter rubbish and nobody in their right mind would spend hard earned cash on it. That lamp hasn't been "restored" or "repaired", it was patched together and will haze over, leak, and have piss poor light output for the few weeks it will hold together. The lousy paint he put on the damaged reflector will peel and fall off, further killing lumens downroad. I guess if you only have pennies to spare and don't really care about actual product performance or longevity then this kind of thing may impress. But it certainly won't fly in an industry where consumers are entitled brats and parts/repair warranties commonly push 2 to 3 years.
@@fordguy8792 That is relative, if you live in a country with next to nothing, no Home Depot just down the road, and probably no electricity, this type of skill is necessary to survive. That was an impressive video.
i've seen lot of videos of this kind. These people repair and recycle everything. Doesn't matter what they have the technique to fix it, and using extremely basic resources. Congratulations!!! I hope everybody could do the same!
That's the difference in other part of the world they will tell you how to DIY. And than introduce 10 products and diffrent tools to use. Here it's just basic tools you will find at your garage or your local store.
Excellent job. I've only ever popped open these types of lights to replace the lenses with new ones. This is a great and economical way to repair these.
I watch these videos to learn how to repair my own cars. Here in the U.S. everything is disposable and no one actually fixes anymore. Thank you for the insight
This doese not help at all when there are countrys that dump trash into rivers and oceans by truck loads... This is like taking single pine needle Out of pine forest...

@@PeterKupietz No reason why we can't replace the outer lens (if available) but "fixing" plastic like that, especially with LED or HID is a no no, the optics are too critical to consider doing it. Nice work though when choices are limited!
@@hoojchoons2258 not only that but once taking apart getting the lens sealed all the way requires more the just warming it up and clamping together so that headlight is no longer water tight , they actually recommend using an adhesive as well when changing the lens , me and my dad changed the lens on his vw from plastic to glass lenses because the plastic turned yellow and white and cost more the the glass lenses
This is not a real repair this is a temporary I can't buy a new one or go to a junkyard and get one if you ever disassembled headlights and rebuilt them or modified them you would know that the inside is not 10 for like what he has here it's a extremely highly reflective paint Metalized paint so don't think that this is a good job that thing will barely be bright enough to light the streets you wouldn't be legally allowed to drive with these in any country other than a third world country also with all the debris chemicals and everything going into those drains and just going into the ground that would be against most laws from the EPA

In case anyone is wondering what the powder substance is that he is sprinkling onto the super glue, it’s most likely baking soda / bi carbonate soda. Using the bi carbonate soda with super glue helps further strengthen the joint.
This is a good guess. I thought it was plastic powder from the grinding that he saved and sprinkled into the glue. As plastic bonds to itself the best, mixing it with the glue could help increase adhesion and strength. I’ve not heard of the baking powder method but good to know!
This guys been working on these things since he was like 8, truly skilled. Unlike Americans who go into a workforce with zero experience, this guy got that entry level job at the good old age of 10.

No one would bother fixing it, the labour involved would outweigh the cost of a new headlight more than likely, not to mention the fact that you can very much tell it has been repaired, can easily see the patch that has been added, this would also more than likely fail an mot due to distorting the beam pattern.
