Wouldn't it be great if all the car companies would put the parts with the highest fail rate in a place that was easy to access? Most of the time it's just the opposite, at least in my experience. Very helpful video for anyone with this system Luke.

I would like to see companies start thinking about that. There are some cars you have to take the whole dash apart to get to this part.

I miss the days when it was a simple cable that connected the control to the heater door.

Yes, that was the best design. Not much to go wrong. That seems to be a trend with cars. The newer ones don't even use a cable for the throttle, just an electronic actuator.

I like when you said you may have to reach up to the shutter that controls the door between heat and cold.proved that no adjustment on the actuator.i also went on gm parts direct and purchased their part .the part that connects to the shutter was metal rather than white plastic.

Yeah this video is only gonna work for 2000-2006. If you have 2007.5 to 2014 with manual climate control. Then that temp actuator is going to be behind the "upper" glove box. Remove air bag for easier access to temp actuator & recirculation actuator.

Yes, it is starting to go out. I used to be able to do that with mine and it got weaker and weaker. The fan blows on the door in a way that pushes it to the heat side so it is harder to move it from heat to cold than from cold to heat.

Is it possible it is the SWITCH ??? itself that controls the temperature that is faulty ?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks and have a great day.

Luke, had to take the spouse to doctor checkups in Houston, but just fooled with it all again. Tried to recalibrate, no change. The new and old do not move the female thing that goes over the stub, so maybe the new control panel does not work. Just ended up leaving the actuator off, manually moving the door to blow cold, and will just leave it for now. Don't want to bother you more than necessary. :) I really appreciate someone who actually answers comments.@@lukeFugate

Is the motor turning the vent? If you take the actuator off and turn the knob by hand, one position should be hot and the other cold. When it blows out hot put the control on the dash over to hot. Then you can put the actuator back on and it should work correctly. If it doesn't there is either a problem with the control board or the new actuator is bad(it happens)
