You explained it and showed everything I needed to see. I'm not a mechanic at all. I always end up with extra parts somehow. My heat works with no steam. Now I have to zip tie those plug in things so they don't rattle and I'm good to go. Thank you.

When pulling the old one out, you can plug the inlet and outlet with something to help keep from spilling nasty coolant on your carpet. Stick something inside the tube itself.

Having a hard time. I’ve had my heater core replaced and I still keep hearing a running water noise in the firewall. I’ve taken it back to the place and they installed a 90 elbow on where the condensation runs out. I’m not getting any leaking inside the truck, but it’s definitely annoying. Any advice?

Hey, so i think im getting water leaking in between the firewall and the black box that the heater core hoses float above. I don't think its an issue of the heater core itself but the water is coming in right between. Do you have any advice on sealing that black box? It sounds like the heater core has a gasket, does that big black box or is it just seam sealer on the top?
@BroncosandPartsGarage
@BroncosandPartsGarage 3 месяца назад
That’s very rare- are you sure windshield isn’t leaking?
@slonison
@slonison 3 месяца назад
@@BroncosandPartsGarage So I actually found it. Under the hood on the passengers side. The box (I think it is what the blower mounts to. There is (was) factory sealer on the top of the box where it meets the firewall. It was all chewed and dried up. Especially right under where the two hoses seal to the heater core. I used a flat head screw driver to peel off the old sealer and man it definitely crumbled off like townhouse crackers. Tomorrow I'm going to remove the two heater core hoses to get solid clearance and then I will be using 3M seam sealer to truly seal the gap between. But it's definitely coming in there because it was right between. The firewall and the box where the vacuum lines go through the rubber grommet.
