Excellent video I have a 2008 Keystone Sprinter and for 2 months I could not get info for my slide not opening up until I came across your video>Thank you so much for sharing your findings.
This video was the only one close to my 2010 keystone hornet. Even the keystone website had nothing close to what I needed. Thank you for your video it was greatly needed at the time it was viewed.
This Video saved me a ton of money! 2011 Forest River Salem Destination 408FLFB Grand Villa, I had same problem slide would go in but not out! Took of switch ordered a new one $25.00 put new switch on a works like new😁 I was lucky! Was able to replace my switch with out removing Hydraulic lines! You are The MAN! Thanks
I considered trying to replace the relay without removing but I had the leaking fluid that I wanted to seal off. Glad you saved the money and did it yourself.
Awesome video! I thought I had the same problem with our 2004 ForestRiver Cardinal same symptoms replaced solenoid only to find out it was the battery which the slide out is solely dependent on to operate was going bad. So installed brand new battery slide out worked properly for a few days now same issues, closes but now won’t open. Leaving tomorrow for a week at the beach and dreading crawling underneath to manually work the motor.
You're welcome. Glad the video helped you. Your new relay may be bad. I had a brand new one that was bad. Replaced in the video. Works great now. Check voltage on either side of the relay while pressing the button. Likely one side is not getting voltage. Relay bad.
I drained and replaced the fluid after I removed the pump. The lines are self purging, Just run the slide in and out and it will purge any air. Also remember to place some support under the reservoir when you get it installed again. I used a piece of foam. The reason this ends up leaking is the weight of the reservoir distorts the seal and leads to leaks.
@@DansEverythingOutdoors did you re use the seal or use a new one? Where would you buy a new seal? I tried from the company but they did not have a seal. Thanks!
Not sure if still getting comment notifications but had a question. Will be picking up a trailer with that same pump but looks like it doesn’t have the fill cap on it. Do you know if the cap from newer tanks will fit? Or if I don’t have a cap will the fluid squirt out if using? Not sure if it works at all yet because it doesn’t have any fluid. Will not be moving it once it’s set up.
I can't say for sure if the new cap will fit. It looks like it will. As far as no cap, the only problem would be some splashing out. the canister is not under pressure so you don't have to worry about squirting out.
Dan thanks for the video. I have a 2004 forest river wildcat with the same slide out pump. My pump works when there is fluid in it. The problem that I am having is how to stop it from leaking fluid? People mention the o-ring that leaks? Is it a large o-ring? Small o-ring and where is it located on the pump? Dan can I get the name of the sealer that you used to seal around the tank and the motor. Any help I could get would be much appreciated. Thanks
Hey Tom, The O ring is a very large one. It seals the reservoir to the pump. I used Permetex black gasket sealer to seal mine. Found at Walmart or auto shop. There was nothing wrong with my O ring. The weight of the reservoir distorts the seal. That is why I used a gasket sealer as apposed to buying a new pump and reservoir. The new ones corrected this issue. Hope it works out for you and saves you some money. Clean ridge with some alcohol and use lots of sealer.
