what polarity does the battery goes in ?

Mine has a + sign on the outside of the button, so the positive side faced outward toward the front of the grill.

That one looked like a AA, but maybe they use diff ones in diff bbqs? Just check yours to see...

Depends on the grill. Some use AAA and some use AA / other. My Broil King Baron 5-Burner takes a AAA.
