How to replace LCD Screen on a HP ProBook 450 G7 laptop. Step-by-step instructions

This is a guide on replacing an LCD on an HP ProBook 450 G7
To begin press and hold the power button to turn off the laptop and disconnect the power cord.
Now we can remove the bezel. Start from the left side. Gently pulling the inner edge of the bezel away from the glass. Once the edge is unsnapped go around the perimeter unsnapping the tabs at the top, right side and the bottom. Bottom edge is glued to the LCD. Once the bottom edge is separated, flip the laptop over and using a plastic pick unsnap the hinge cover from the back cover. Open the laptop fully and carefully remove the bezel.
The LCD is held to the back cover with two strips of adhesive on the right and the left edges. Use a heat-gun or a hairdryer to warm up the back cover to help separate the adhesive. Insert a plastic pick on the right edge and continue warming the back cover. Insert the pick on the left edge and warm up the back cover. Continue advancing the plastic pick behind the LCD to the bottom edge as adhesive separates. Maintain temperature of the back cover, it must be hot to the touch but not burning. Use a second plastic pick to continue separating the adhesive behind the LCD. Once the LCD is free place it on the keyboard and remove all adhesive.
Gently peel off the tape securing the video connector. Open the connector’s bracket. Using both hands disconnect the video cable. Discard the old panel.
At this point the new LCD can be installed.
Wipe the inside of the back cover with rubbing alcohol. Install two strips of double sided adhesive on two edges.
Take the new LCD screen and place it on the keyboard. Using both hands reconnect the video cable. Close the connector’s bracket. Secure it with tape.
CAUTION! It is very important not to force any of the connectors. You must not twist or slant the connector when plugging it in.
Make sure that the video cable stays in the correct position and lift the screen up aligning it with the bottom edge. Apply slight pressure on the edges of the LCD to catch the adhesive. Open the laptop fully and replace the bezel. Start from the hinge cover then go around the perimeter pressing firmly snapping the tabs back in place. Turn the laptop over and make sure that the bezel is snapped in near the hinge cover.
Press the power button and if the start up graphics appears the LCD screen is installed correctly, and we are done!

I plan on finding a student in my hometown that cannot afford a laptop. As everyone knows, due to the Pandemic a lot of people have to work and go to school virtually from home and not everyone has or can afford a computer. I already have a good desktop and laptop so this one will go to someone in need. thank you!

The way I plan to use this laptop is to use it for both my school work and start teaching myself a programming language like C+ or python. The current laptop that I am using I will donate it to my church so that it can help any needy student in this new online learning world.

My neighbour asked me to fix her sons laptop and when I diagnosed the issue I found that the LCD panel is broken in one of the corner, so I googled for a replacement I just came about your website... I gave to them a spare laptop as temporary replacement, so they don't have to wait for long since they do not miss their classes and their mom cannot buy them a new one either... and while browsing your website I found about this giveaway, I looked for the specs and I think it can be a good laptop for myself since what I am using right now is an 8-year-old landed to me by my work... so if I am selected winner, added to that I am pretty certain that I will succeed in fixing the neighbour kids' laptop (without any additional repair cost) I am going to let them keep the one I gave to them so each of the kids will have his laptop, and I am going to have a new laptop as well as the one from the work... and everyone will be happy! I will post photos with a note as well :)

I have only owned 1 new laptop. It dated from 2011 and was as low end a machine as it was possible to purchase then. It still wroks but is hopelessly slow for my intended purpose. I want to help my 89 year old Mom do the Zoom or Skype thing with her great great granddaughter, who is 4 years old. Due to the C thing and her age, the two cannot meet in person. My laptop is just too old and slow for modern things. Thanks for the opportunity here to win this. BTW The screens I have purchased work perfectly. FWIW nice clear tutorial.

I plan to give this laptop to my son--we don't currently have any laptops besides the one I was provided for work so we have been renting from the school district for online learning. However, the rental laptop is old and slow so he is having trouble connecting to the online classes.

I plan on using it for my grandson and granddaughter (ages 10 and 3), he will use it for online schooling and she will use it for online educational games. This will be there first laptop, they now use a really old desktop that has to stay in my bedroom taking up space with a desk. Now I will be able to setup laptop anywhere for them to use.

Thank you for the video - very helpful. Glue? Adhesive Tape? Piss-poor build quality from HP - not made for maintenance. EDIT: The G8 I'm working on is even worse. Bezel glued on all round, won't disengage from hinge. Utter crap - I would never buy an HP laptop.
