Frustrated with your N64 controller's joystick?
If you've seen our other N64 joystick repair video, this process is pretty similar. Here's a another model to check out. It's made by RepairBox and seems to have a great design. As you can see from the video, the installation is pretty easy. Just make sure you have a Philips Head screwdriver handy and about 10 minutes of time.

Yup, we're still carrying our GameCube-styled replacements too. Both seem to be good, so we just wanted to give people some options.

they make a replacement stick that's like a Dreamcast or GameCube I have one and it works great! in your next video can you show how to replace the controller wire ( like if u have pets or vacuum got ahold of it lol )

I like these, but I know they will wear down since its plastic inside as well since I dissaembled one before. I can grease it and that would work but last time I tried it was tricky to get it back together, and when I did I broke off the connector.

I pack them with dialectical grease before putting them in.. works and feels 100% better..

It was a little hard to replace the joystick for the N64 controller but i'm getting used to it.

Is there any way to get the controller together properly after installing this new stick? I can't seem to get the two halves to close properly, and forcing them closed by tightening the screws causes the Z button to stick.

sucks for me i opened my controller and tried to clean and rage quit on it,then i lost all the pieces for the controller.

This product is making me furious. I for whatever reason can NOT fit the two n64 controller shells together.... they just dont fit with the new joystick, they will always be uneven on one side or the top.... this doesnt even happen with the gc or the original joysticks, so it's obviously something wrong with the product

Mk7tester You're correct, you do have to force them into the plastic but I should warn you it does make it crack so be very careful.

It's the PCB on the back its a bit too big.
