Thanks for this installation guide. Pretty easy to follow 👍 How have these held up for the past four years? Another question, is the headrail made of metal or plastic? I am thinking about these shades for a window that gets a lot of sun, but worry that a plastic headrail might bend or warp.
It is mostly plastic. I have no issue with them bending or melting, however, I just replaced these blinds after over 4 years because one of the internal strings broke. You can restring them and fix the issue yourself, but for $24, I just got a replacement and threw them up, and saved the hour of time it would have taken to fix it. Replacing these once you already have a set installed is real easy too, I will see if I can through up a video this coming weekend.
It depends. When you get your new blinds, take a look at the replacement brackets that come with it, if they are the same, then you can keep the old ones. If they are different, you may need to replace them to get the new blinds to hold securely, but it won't hurt to experiment.
