While the video does make it look easy (it's not) it helps a bunch with the replacement. The cool attitude throughout is as valuable as the process. It helps to know it can be done and although frustrating, it is possible.
He must have lowered the cradle down a bit to get the lines off the brackets. I'm doing this right now on a 04 Pilot 4wh drive. And when I say I have no room for ratchets like hes using, I seriously mean there is no way to get tools in there.
This hose is not easy to get to and this guy made great video. Just showinh the camera virw that clear on the return hose was great in itself. He said only what was needed. Showed onl wha was needed and did only what was needed. If you could make a perfect video this woul be it
8 hour job for me, I am NOT an expert by any means, BUT, greatly appreciate the video as far as locations of retainer clips and associated bolts, and calm demeanor (“do the best you can”) did mine on ramps and most of the work from underneath, non angled 10mm ratchet wrench was CLUTCH because I couldn’t fit normal socket on any retainers. FYI vid shows 2 clips going back on backwards, no big, million ways to skin a cat, great video!!! 06 MDX
Save yourself a heck of a lot of time by cutting high pressure line & return hose. Then use a socket with breaker bar. There's not enough clearance for a wrench. Plus you won't strip out nut. Prepare for bloody knuckles.
I thought the video was great. One critique I have was the retainer before the actual rack fitting. Idk how you can get your hands there 1 two I can barely even see it. 2 idk about the pliers and clipping something to release it. 3 I just deleted it and installed a zip tie. That bolt was inaccessible from the bottom. I found it from the top. Felt like German engineering to me.
This took me about 8 hours to do on a line that was old. The old fitting was a huge pain to get out, along with threading the new one and finding where all the brackets go. There’s not much space to work in and it’s deeeep in there
Can confirm this replacement sucks. Those without long skinny arms may need to enlist help. Took over 10 hrs for me personally and then I snapped the last bolt connecting the hose to the pump. Guess it’s getting fixed tomorrow. If you can afford to pay someone to do this one do it. Saving your money isn’t worth the hours of cursing
Just like the previous guy, it’s a horrible video on how to replace. It makes it look way way too easy and it’s not there are a lot of restrictions against you like even the throttle body was in the way and it doesn’t show them Ian messing with throttle body, you cannot get your arm down in there too, take those hoses loose lines…
