We are still replacing parts on the red V70 -04. In this video we have to replace a part that seems to have many names. Some call it rear toe arm or tracking stay arm. This rear toe arm has the properties to adjust the toe angle of the car. If you have, as I have in the film, a damaged tracking stay arm. In the worst case when this arm is damage that it can wear unevenly on the tire.
In this video, we will replace this damaged tracking stay arm. As a rule, after a replace of this arm, you have to drive in and do a rear adjustment on your Volvo. We are going to adjust the rear axle, but not right now, so we are going to try by all means to get this new toe arm mounted in exactly the same place as the old broken one. In the video, you get to participate and measure and mark where and how the broken tracking stay arm is mounted.
During the installation on the old broken toe arm, we have problems with the innermost bolt being broken and rust damaged to the extent that we have to cut it with an angle grinder. With quick buttons, we click home a new adjustment bolt for this brace. When assembling the new strut, we try to position it by all means to get as close as possible to where the old broken one had been.
When you get to the step where both bolts must be tightened, it is 80Nm that these bolts must be tightened.
