Good job. For future reference "prime" the shocks by compressing all the way down and let it back up automatically 3 times then install. It lubes the seals making the shocks last longer. Still should be changed every brake job or 2 years.

After shock replacement, is it recommended to do wheel alignment?
@TRUCKINGTIPSDIY
@TRUCKINGTIPSDIY 4 года назад
hello, its not required (you're not moving anything related to alignment) but if you feel like the truck its out of alignment you might want to take it get it alighted
@lrocky223
@lrocky223 3 года назад
Alignment would only be necessary when parts have been removed from the vehicle that are part of the alignment of the vehicle. In this case the rear shocks have no adjustment for alignment therefore the semi does not need alignment. McPherson struts, control arms, rod end, ect, are all components that if they are removed or have other parts removed from them, then the vehicle needs a professional alignment.

For the “old Cascadia,” it’s 165 ft lbs for the drive shocks and 140 ft lbs for the steer shocks. The “New Cascadia” has bumped up their steer shocks to 151 ft lbs. The New Cascadia should be 2018+ year model, or check your Driver’s manual to confirm if you have a New Cascadia.
@Pimpsee
@Pimpsee Год назад
@@thereviewer4173 I torqued them to 250 the last time
@thereviewer4173
@thereviewer4173 Год назад
@@Pimpsee The torque specs I posted are from the Cascadia workshop manuals. The New Cascadia model has moved up their torque spec for the steer shocks to 151 ft lbs. It now uses a bigger size nut and bolt. Don’t over torque the nuts and bolts or else you’ll damage them and will need to buy some new ones next time. Most of the torque specs are found on the maintenance manuals or workshop manuals. There is also a way to find torque specs with bolt thread gauges, a caliper, and knowing how to read bolt strength printed on the head or sides of the nuts and bolts.
