How to Replace Spark Plugs Honda 3.5L: Pilot, Odyssey and more 

I have a tip for removing the coil packs. If you lubricate the connectors with silicone spray it will make them release so much easier. This comes from years of experience.

I recommend using a piece of hose 8 to 12 inches long to get the new plugs started. No anti seize on iridium plugs. And do use dielectric grease for all electric connections. Including where the coils touch the plugs.

Done. 09/23/23. 83,000 miles. My plugs had zero oil on them. At 60,000 miles I had a VCM muzzler installed. Suggestions to help you. 1. I am 6 ft tall but I still needed my short step stool to reach way back in back 2. I used a swivel socket on one of the plugs in back 3. I used a bit shorter extension 4. My coil packs came off by me just pulling and slightly twisting... 5. I used no grease. The factory grease is good enough. 6. Do NOT lube the spark plugs. 7. Use the exact same spark plugs that were put in at the factory. The engineers know better than you and me. 8. For the back, a rachet with a push button release is needed.

what that middle/#2 direction is saying, is to torque tapered plugs 1/16th of a turn after hand tight, and the ones with crush washer 1/4 of a turn after hand tight.

Modern plugs do not need antiseize…they have special coatings on the threads that render antiseize obsolete. It causes misfires and causes over tightening/stripped threads.

I have a 2014 Honda pilot when you are stopped in idols really low could this be because of spark plugs changed

you do not show how to take out coils 2 and 3, mine touch the central supports of the radiator and therefore the coils jam and do not come out of the motor
