@BiggykWeSt Carbon brushes transfer electrical power to a device's armature (the part that spins) by making contact with a copper portion of the armature which is called the commutator.

Brushes vary both in size and lead wire arrangement. It is important to have the brand and model number of your particular tool to find the proper brush. -Mark
