I have an old mower with one of those Qantams. Change oil 2X per year, change plug every 3 years, and that is it. For 14 years. Have a snorkel to keep the air filter from sucking up grass and air filters last 3 years.
I tore one down completely for my DR Trimmer a few weeks ago that was seized up. Once you understand the starter assembly it's pretty easy to take apart, clean up, lube it back up and throw it back together. On the internals I used some gear lube and on that worm gear I used white lithium grease that came in my garage door repair kit.
I’ve got a knocking sound from my engine, when I turn the cutter disc slightly I can hear something hitting something else like a tock tock sound when it reaches a compression point (maybe, it’s only a quarter turn or whatever). It starts ok ish with the started core and the starter motor struggles to get enough movement
Would you happen to know the part numbers for a Briggs 675EX starter parts? It's on my neighbor's Troy-Bilt FWD mower. There's no label on it that has pn or sn for the mower. All there is is a torn label on the engine cover that says it's a 675EX.😮
Awesome video. thank you for making and posting this video. it realy helped me a lot. i put a little white lithium grease on the metal shaft, it seems to help it move better/easier. i Love watching your videos. :)
Jeff my Briggs and Stratton turns over a little slowly, and thus is reluctant to electric start, will go first time on the pull cord,it is a new battery, could I fit a larger capacity battery ? To speed up the starter revolutions ? Cheers jamie
@@JeffsLittleEngineServicethe engine turns, starts, and there is also some vibration. I took the spark plug out and turned the cutter disc and it knocks every quarter turn
I know that plastic is pretty durable but its going against metal c'mon ( not an engineer ) 👷♀Of course I'm gonna do what Jeff does c'mon that's have the fun 😆
