You did a fantastic job at making certain that everything you did was understood! I've seen so many others that were in to much of a hurry to explain everything step by step which is why people go to RU-vid in the first place. Thank you for a video and job well done! 👏
Appreciate the kind words. My wife says i do explain things pretty well, even though the person working on it might not be a professional, then can understand what i am telling them. I try to simplify what i am saying, to make it easy for almost anyone to follow directions
Thank you for the video,I don't know but you said that the tank has like 2 gallon of gas; just when you staring work on the pump on the video show full tank After you finish the video still show maybe a little bit low of the line of full tank. something was wrong here because 2 gallon of gas it would show at least 1/4 of the gallon maybe wiring was not connect right or that was something wrong with the pump.what do you think....
Because i know i added at least 2 gallons of gas ( is what i meant to say). Obviously the float that comes with the new fuel pump was bad and replacing it fixed it
@@raiderman28 I apology to you if you feel that I was sound like I was criticize your work that was not my intentions, I fell very proud from people like you that take the time to show how to do those tape of job and explain step by step how to do it. We need more people like you to do this cain of job. Thanks again Good bless you ....
Liked your video very helpful i gotta do this now guage not accurate aftermarket is the way to go when i have a 2001 buick regal that rusting and only worth 700 800 bucks why pump oem for 250 ac delco pump when the car is only worth 1/3 of that im going aftermarket also thanks for the video i can see if you had a 2013 in great shape and wanted to keep the car long term then pump in OEM was just reading other comments where people said go oem not if the car isn't worth it money down the drain then .. good video thanks.
I didnt buy the new connectors at first and just replaced the fuel pump in my 03 impala, i currently have a leak on my pressure line where it goes on to the pump. would replacing the quick release clip fix that by chance?
A spark outside the gas tank would not go boom. That ls logic. I have never heard a brass punch not creating a spark either way. Metal to metal can create spark ⚡️. But either way i was keeping the tool on it not to chip the metal.
@@raiderman28 It has happened to others in the past and he is correct on that! Gasoline fumes are also highly flammable and any spark can and will ignite them and thus boom still happens!!😒
Any suggestions for when you are not getting power to the fuel pump? I just replaced the fuel pump on an 02’ and when I tried to start the car, the pump isn’t coming on.
There is a relay in the engine compartment. If that is not getting power, then possibly a fuse. But if the relay is bad, that can also cause it not to get power. If there is another relay on that fuse box that looks the same and is not being used by the engine, for example a headlight relay or horn relay, you can swap them and see if the horn or headlight still works. This will tell you if the relay is bad.
I have a question dont know if you still be on youtube but will not putting the fuel tank ring in all the way cause a po446 code for my 2002 chevy impala? Engine light came on a day after I changed my fuel pump. Please respond to my question thanks man
Mallory Cain Jr. P0446 Evaporative Emission Control System Vent Control Circuit Malfunction. The code P0446 is set when the engine computer recognizes a fault or restriction at the vent control part of the Evaporative emission control system (EVAP). Check and make sure evap hose is connected correctly, and that the ring is on all the way. Sometimes a bad gas cap gas cap can cause this also, thats why I replaced mine also.
@@raiderman28 thank you for responding I wanted to get this fixed ASAP autozone said its not a major Problem but I dont like things not fixed. Also, theres a little space between the fuel ring lock and the tank itself but the ring locked in when I hit it in. Is that how its supposed to be or is the ring lock supposed to be completely flat with the fuel pump and tank? Like flat to he point where I cant stick a flathead between the spaces?
@@raiderman28 have the same issue but car would also stall sometimes coming to a stop then rough or hard start. My fuel pressure on 3.8l v6 Impala is 44psi with car on 39 car off and will go to 0 after after about 15 min off. Changed at least 8 parts still no fix in sight
So I changed my fuel pump and then a day later my engine light cut on it has a code of po446. What coule this mean? Idk if I bumped anything and a few rust debris fell in by accident
The access panel makes it difficult to fit the tool if at all, you’re better off beating the thing loose in that tiny compartment. Mine was extremely rusted and it came out no problem with a hammer and a cats paw
Mine says random cylinder misfire p0300 and (pending code) system to lean bank 1. My car will start for 20 seconds then when I push the gas it will shut off. Do you think I should change the fuel pump? Mechanics I call all say that it could be the pump. They want to charge me 500 plus parts.
mine has the same misfire code. it turned out that if has low compression in 2 cylinders, because it had a blown head gasket. new fuel pump might keep vehicle running, if its bad, but not fix the misfire. you need to check the compression in all cylinders before going forward, or else you will be spending money you don't need to like i did. my car turns on an runs better now, but i have the same misfire, and low compression, so i would have to tear the engine down, which is not worth it. looking for a used engine with low miles to do a swap. i got the car for free, but its becoming a money pit.
1. You don't have to break one of those pieces he said you have to 2. You dont have to wire in anything, just make sure you have the right pump. Look at your pump and if autozone or somewhere doesnt have it, then buy it from Amazon. I always do and always get the right parts Making this job seem harder than it really is
Chance Houston job isn’t harder. This are aftermarket parts. Most parts plug right in. But if you know about these cars, the plugs fall apart, so they make a nee and improved plug that usually has to be wired in ( which is super easy). Unless you buy it an expensive pump like $200 , those might come with just a factory plug.
not true on this vehicle unless you buy it through the dealership. they want $249 for a factory fuel pump. amazon pump is the same as the one on eBay (aftermarket) and they have to be wired in. you should check your facts before saying what you just said. these plugs fail all the time, that why they came out with a wire in new plug, because chevy used cheap plastic on this factory pumps.( they disintegrate when you take them apart most of the time) i have done many of these over the years.
