Great video! Thanks for including those important torque specs, which many fail to mention. My daughters 2017 RAV4 has the tell tale signs of a failing water pump. That pink coolant slung on the hood by the serpentine belt is a dead giveaway. Any chance you have an estimate of how long the job is start to finish? I'm going to say 3-4 hrs.?

Is this a common issue with the RAV4? I have a 2017 with 58,000 miles and the other day I got the charging system failure light, when we checked under the hood the serpentine belt was gone and the water pump was shot? Any info is helpful.

Doing some reading on the Toyota RAV4 owner forums, it appears that the water pumps in the 2017/18 model years do fail prematurely on occasion. Sounds like you'll need a new belt and pump.

Used oil & transmission fluid can be taken to local auto parts store to be recycled. What does a person do with the old coolant?

Most garbage dumps/transfer stations will have a tank that is used to capture old cooolant and also another tank for oils and somewhere to throw the old oil filter. Check with your local dump/garbage location to see what they offer. Should be no charge.

another option is to check your city/village. It will have its own maintenance department. My village maintenance department takes used oil, coolant, brake fluid, and household chemicals.
