Thank you so much for the clear, detailed instructions! My new house has two exterior doors that get foggy in the winter due to faulty seals. The manufacturer is willing to provide new glass, but I am responsible for the expense of replacing the windows. I am a single 74 year old woman, but with your video to guide me, I believe I can do this project myself! Many thanks!!!
You are welcome, I'm glad I could help. The replacement glass is the biggest expense, so congrats on getting them to pay for that. You must have had an excellent warranty. You've got this. If you have any doubts about safety, it's worth having a third party help out.
kirkp_nextguitar: The trick in this town is finding a glass manufacturer that will sell replacement glass to the general public. I can still get the window glass for under $200 where a new quality door slab with glass is $600+ and still needs to be milled, hinged, painted and installed. For now, it still makes good sense to DIY the glass replacement. The glass lasted 20 years before the seal failed. By the time the next failure happens, the door may start rotting so I'll likely buy a new slab.
Scott N: I'm glad to help. It's too bad they build them now without glass stops but I've already done it again since and gets easier each time. Thanks for the comment.
