Thank you so very much for the Video this helped me so much, It was the hardest Timing belt I have done as yet, Just a Pointer that the Crankshaft pulley bolt needs a Female Torx E18 Socket I used a multi point standard socket and rounded the head then ended up having to drill out the old bolt which took 4 days just for the one part.
No need for any exaust parts to be removed or injectors or wiring if it's a broken chain yes for injectors to be removed but not if it's an interval change
@@Adi_86 the price for the parts you can check on autodoc . The job isnt hard but you should be prepared for everything you need to do . A bought the locking pins for the motor (fiat 1.3 diesel z13dth) and a special tool to hold the crankshaft while removing/screwing the crankshaft . bolt
4:48 I think there is a mistake. You said to turn the camshaft clockwise at it's sprocket bolt but you can't do that because there is still the timing chain cover left...You can't access the bolt if you don't remove the cover first. (see at 4:22) Or maybe you can access it by removing the torx plug on the cover ?
After you have done maybe 10 of these engines they get easier. last one i did it took me just over half an hour longer than the more easier z12xer petrol engine. The 1.3cdti are very problematic but the good thing about them is if the chain snaps they never bend valves even though it is an interference engine, the manufacturer made the cam followers very weak so if the chain breaks it breaks the followers instead of bending the valves. Better taking the cam box of and replacing a few followers instead of striping the head and having to do a valve job and maybe even worse.
enriq g if your chain has snapped then yes you will have to take all injectors out because the cam box has to come off to replace broken cam fiollowers.
ENRIQ G Hi no you dont have to check for bent valves just take off the cam box and replace any cam followers that are broken and check all the rest of them for cracks, last one i did just had 2 followers broken, as i mentioned before these engines dont bend valves ive yet to see one that has.
OMG why do i have a car with this engine, its horrible and horrible to work on :( mine wont even start new crank sensor and still wont start only spins, Doesnt even try and start been like this for 3 weeks :( So frustrated I cant find the problem
How do I counterhold the camshaft sprocket (5:52)? Do I need a special tool for that or is there some space behind the sprocket to counterhold with a spanner?
Would changing this cause oil to spill under the gearbox ? Bought one of these and there's oil under the gearbox dealer claims it's due to timimg chain replacement there's no leaks but just curious
Hy, how could we put the timing correctly if we have the engine out of the car and there is no flywheel to block?? When we have the engine into the car, it's easy to put the timing correctly but with the engine out as well as the flywheel, then we can just put the camshaft timing but the cranck....??? Please help!!
Tony paolozzi, you should be ok just using one to lock the camshaft as both camshafts are both driven by a gear. I think they give you 2 if the camshafts have been taken off or been replaced so the gear drive can be re timed with both camshafts again.
Neither the turbo and catalytic on a Corsa D, but how did you remove the timing cover? Did you remove the studs bolted in the block or the 2 ones bolted in the cover?
Run The Jewels extract the 2 studs in the cover then It’ll pull away from the sump then. I cable tie the oil pickup to a hole in sump so it Dosent fall in
Fix and drive. How can i remove the chain cover without removing the oil sump ? The two studs going down through the oil sump from the timing cover is blocking me from getting it out.. How can i do it without removing the oi sump and turbocharger ...
to remove the oil sump, you need to remove the catalyst converter which is fitted to the turbocharger and it is hard to remove just the catalyst converter. It is easier to remove it along with the turbocharger

Fix and Drive you can get the sump on and off easily without having to remove the cat 😄 Also on any 1.3 I've fitted a new chain to I've never removed the sump always just worked around the timing cover .. remove the bolts and just leave it in situ With the strainer still attached .. all you've got to do is remove the 2 studs on the end of the sump and the 2 studs on the bottom of the timing cover 😄 little time saver for your next one 😄
Ive done quite a few of these, you dont have to remove the cat to remove the sump, just remove the top 3 bolts on top of the manifold and the cat will drop maybe an inch just enough room to take the sump off.
Remove the 2 studs on the end of the sump an the 2 studs on the bottom of the timing cover ? What do you mean aaron, do you cut it off or something ? Im replacing a timing chain on a friends car and to me it looks like i have to lower the oil sump so that i can pull the timing cover off. If you have any good tips i would be very happy.
