bro you dont understand how much i appreciate you makin this video the way you took off the valcovers for a HR is the most easiest and least complex way you didnt even take off nun of the grounds for the driver side or the injectors wtff i have all of my grounds disconnected because most tutorials on youtube these dudes take apart damn near the entire wire harness instead you just un loosened bare minimum and lifted it 🤦♂️ i wish you would have made this vid sooner lmao
this was the best valve cover video on youtube... thanks so much man.. I'm a go do mine right now, and if I have a reply on this it went great... if not... well...
Update: (not sure if my last one saved)... short form: got the entire left side off, thanks to the video. Tried putting my new valve cover on, but when torquing one bolt to 70ftlbs, it snapped in the housing. Got a bolt extractor kit, and it ALSO SNAPPED in the housing. Tried going a size up, but it stripped the housing. Now the car is in the garage, WITH NO CLUE what I should do. Calling Kal Tire tomorrow to see if they can somehow drill a bigger bolt hole for the housing, and maybe use a bigger bolt for the valve cover then. If not, probably gonna scrap the car. So it did not go well for me :) BUT the video was very helpful, can't stress how great this video was. However, if you're working on an 07 G35X, there's these pinch clips holding a lot of the wiring. Get some needle nose pliers or something to clip those out, it'll make a huge difference time wise. My brother PINCHED layers off my finger when I was trying to guide him to the clip, and I might need stitches on my finger now. But I'm sure others will be better 😀
@@Stage4Casper& just why would you torque those bolts to 70ft-lbs?? Max for those is maybe 8ft-lbs. I think you got confused with inch pounds & ft-lbs.
@ezkoshows7136 that's actually exactly what happened 😂 we were excited we were doing it so well,we were literally just in the moment, we weren't thinking, so we fucked up 😂 all good though, I got a specialist to come and get it out, and I'm gonna continue this weekend 👍🏼 VERY dumb mistake by us XD
UPDATE #2... I crushed the right side. I think it's far easier than the left side, actually. I didn't take off the fuel regulator entirely as mine was kind of stuck 😂 and I couldn't get it off. But it worked out anyways. ALTHOUGH... ANOTHER BOLT SNAPPED OFF !! I can't make this up. I wasn't even torquing to 5ft lbs, figured it wouldn't make it, I was only going hand tight, and it didn't even make it to "tight", I literally just tightened every other bolt though, and threw a bunch of slicicone into the housing/sides of it, gave it a day and a half, and when I tried to start up the car... it shut off on me when going into drive 😂 I tried starting it up again, and WORKED LIKE A CHARM, drove around for like 3hrs just because I was so excited, and because my spark plugs aren't getting flooded, IT FEELS SOOOOO SMOTH now. I can't thank you enough Jules. The instructions were so good, and easy to follow !! The only thing I had difficulty with when putting it together was that coolant hose on the left side, but I just lubed it with some dish soap, and got it on there (after about 45mins of struggling). Everything is all good though!! 🙂🙂🙂
I had a quick question is there by any chance you know where I gone wrong? I turned it back on once I placed everything back , but it turns off immediately, I should mention that it’s been sitting for 2 weeks and it smells burnt from the exhaust ? Thank you bro !
Great video. Thanks for taking the time. Just wondering torque specs for reassembly, how you applied gasket in corner, and showed step by step reassembly. But thanks brother for this really appreciate it. Going to take everything apart in the next week.
Hey man I just got done doing mine on a g35 2008 and I got a lot of high circuit codes coming from the throttle body by any chance do you know the issue?
I got my valve cover gaskets done a white ago but didnt knoe about the cam ones, I didnt do the spark plug gaskets either, how long should the spark gaskets last? Im about to reach 100k, the valve gasket was replaced at 75 -80k
This is the most difficult one I'm gonna have to do so far. I'm nervous but I like your vid the best so I'mma rock wit this one to help me do mine 😊 Thank you for posting this
