When I did mine I couldn't help but think that a relatively minor design change would have allowed them to be replaced without removing the valve cover. They already stick through it. A gasketed bolt could have gone right through the cover to the head.
THANK YOU! This was an excellent video for someone who has never done this before. I'll be starting with the oil and crossing my fingers but my luck usually isn't that good. So I will more than likely be tying into this project this weekend.
Outstanding video and instructions. Needed this for a Range Rover Evoque which has a bad intake vvt solenoid. Hope I can do it as proficient as you. Thanks
help, I have a Ford explorer 3.5 xlt and the camshaft chain is cut and my question is if this is why my engine no longer works, or simply change this chain, help me with your knowledge!!! thanks for your videos
I’ve order 3 of these my ford focus is from the uk shipped to jamaica it still leaks oil i’ve now ordered a used original part as i’m assuming maybe the new ones are the issue? Please advise.
Only replaced the one? Why? If one failed at that amount of miles, you want to do everything all over again when the other fails? Do both while you are already there..
Hi chief, I just replaced the valve cover gasket after everything was put back together, all of a sudden I got the check engine light on so I scanned it and is giving me code P0013 ( B Camshaft position actuator A control circuit / Open Bank 1). Is that code related to that selenoid you replaced??
+Maddog We wouldn't be able to diagnose an issue like that here, you may want to have a local mechanic take a look at it. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
+Leon27383 This procedure might be different for your application. We do not currently have a how-to video for this particular year, make and model. Thank you for asking! 1aau.to/m/Shop-TRQ
The front one is intake, the rear is exhaust. I just had a code pop up, so i replaced the exhaust one, but now it has a lil bit of a weird idle, so I’m going to replace the intake one also. I suggest replacing both
Is there a difference between the 2 solenoids ??? Could I swap them with each other and it run correctly I replaced both of them because I was getting the P0027 code I’m not sure if I should’ve bought two different ones I bought 2 of the same exact ones … I’m still getting the same code
