Then there is likely a problem at the power distribution box where the plug wires go to or the new control was bad and needs to be returned. Thanks for the comment!

@@gotborn42 it does sound like the control board is bad because the control board is acting randomly in different ways and not the same way everytime. I recommend looking up your washer on GEapppianceparts.com. Then either purchase directly or search for the part number on Amazon. I don’t recommend aftermarket control boards. After installing the control board, did you select the correct personality setting on the control board? Your directions should have instructions on which “personality” you select (1,2,3,4,etc). The control board can be put in multiple machines so you have to select the correct personality. @@bobpisone7327 I believe each programming option is referred to as “personality”. Some programming overlaps for similar models having the same personality code. I couldn’t find your specific data sheet. Was the part genuine GE? If so what’s that part number? The data sheet you are trying to find looks similar to this…..f01.justanswer.com/MatthewR0330/b49cb480-dac6-4c0c-9180-a443acec5b88_GE_Control_Programming_(1).pdf AGAIN, this one is not the one you need. Unfortunately, you may have to call GE directly and talk to TECHNICAL SUPPORT. Have the model and serial number handy and also the part number. They will absolutely have the correct data that you will need and be 100% correct.

If the control board is functioning correctly h20 I think means a block on the supply line so be sure the valves are open all the way hot and cold. If there is no obstructions then likely the control board could be bad sending that code which doesn’t exist, but check the lines and mesh screens where the hoses attach to the machine for obstruction of supply water.

It should say on the control board installation instructions.

It COULD be the board. The board could fail a number of ways, I suppose one way could be in the way that issue you describe, this is possible. Did you check all the wires from the door latch (if possible) to the control board? Sorry, I don’t know the procedure to test the control board specifically for that issue you describe. Did you enter diagnostics mode via the control panel to read any trouble codes? Some trouble codes are related to latch which may or may not help you decide. Also there is diagnostic mode and in addition a test mode. If you enter the test mode you can test the door latch along with other specific components each. Maybe the latch is not connected correctly after install or bad part (unlikely if new part). Hope this helps! Thanks for commenting! @danielplunkett4384 What did you end up doing to fix your washer? Mine is doing the same thing. I replaced the door latch mechanism, but it would run any cycles and throws the code "door" (also error 23 for door latch).

How is that LG working out for you? I find these GE aren’t built for heavy use, and can be damaged easily in many ways. Thanks for your comment!

Mine lasted 2 years. My LG lasted 20 years!

@@TheocdrepairmanMy GE has been doing 1-3 loads per day for the last 4 years and this is the first thing I’ve had to replace on it… must be hit or miss on if it’s good or not.

I am unsure. It should be very similar. Whether or not you have to program will depend if the control board is used in multiple machine models.

It “could” be. Depending on your situation it could be the inverter motor and/or the control board. Honestly it could be few other things as well. But the control board and motor have been very common issues

When you turn on the machine do you see any lights turn on? If there are no lights it is a bad component or something is not connected correctly. Are you positive you have correct control board for your machine? If so, I would return letting them know the component is either bad or damaged from shipping. Even if you selected the wrong personality for the new control board you should be able to enter service mode to change the personality to the correct one. Did the control board come with instruction sheet? Also is it genuine GE?

There is a little tab you need to push sometimes they can become stuck try gently plugging in then push the tab and gently pull out. You may even need a small flathead screwdriver to push the tab down/in. Thanks for the comment!

Someone out there is selling a new board and will reference the discontinued one but it might take looking at the top 10 results on google. Or call GE with the part number.

Find your model number and either search online or call your local dealer. You should be able to identify the proper parts that way.

If you look inside the door or on the back of the machine there will be a model # on a sticker. Take that model number and go to Geapplianceparts.com and type it in the search bar. Click the appropriate model that you have and then click “replacement parts by section/ assembly diagram” there are usually a few diagrams so you will have to look through them. Listed are the diagrams numbers with corresponding part number. You can then search online for that part number or buy from GE direct. I appreciate your question!

Thanks. I’m on the website now and it says the item that I need has been replaced by NLA item. What does that mean? It also says the part number is WH22X29546

@@ronieshacashwell7020 I believe NLA would mean no longer available. Maybe they have updated or improved that part.

If you search for that part number online you may be able to find a GE one for sale or even a different aftermarket option from a different brand with the same part number. Otherwise you would have to find that part used somewhere. And if you simply cannot find that part, then it may be time to get a new machine. Try searching online first, good luck!

Was the outlet verified to have power? I would check the power distribution block. Where the power cord wires actually connect to the machine with the terminals. It may have fried this distribution block also. Also check all your wiring to the control board

@@Pccpy there might be one on the control board you could replace with solder. But unfortunately it’s easier to replace the unit as there might be more than a blown fuse also. But I am unsure of a fuse within the control panel

Are you saying that the control board seems to hum? It could be a sign it’s about to go bad. If the machine hums when running it could be normal or something like a screw/bolt could be loose somewhere inside. You could use a stethoscope or a big screw driver like a stethoscope to pinpoint the noise. Thanks for your question!

It is very important you select the correct option the first time to avoid a reprogramming headache. Your best course of action is to call GE technical support. Have the control board part # handy and the washing machine model number and serial number. They will guarantee the correct programming setting. I’m not sure if I know exactly what connector you are talking about but…There is a little tab you need to push sometimes they can become stuck try gently plugging in then push the tab and gently pull out. You may even need a small flathead screwdriver to push the tab down/in. Thanks for the comment! You could also spray the connector with some electronic parts cleaner to maybe free some sort of caked on dust or whatever is holding that connector up in.

i was having the same issue lol but i was able to use a really small precision flathead screwdriver to pry it off its a small clip it’s just really hard to get it off with your fingers

First, Please run test 14 (spin test) and test 13 (door switch) in service mode and let me know what happens. If the drain pump works with test 12, but not with normal washing then something is not happening with one of the components to not allow the cycle to drain normally (like the water level sensor signal is incorrect or the control board is interpreting the signal wrong). Let me know about test 13 and 14. You say “failed to drain completely”. Did it drain some under normal cycle settings

@@Theocdrepairman Thanks for the response. Only at the initial onset of problems did the machine fail to drain, as I have not been able to get the machine to start a cycle since. I can fill the tub with tests 6, 7 & 10 though (hot, cold, and pressure tests). After which I ran test 12 and successfully drained the tub. The machine will not do any of the spin or tumble tests, my theory is that because the machine door lock just clicks back and forth between locked and unlocked, that the machine is not registering that it is locked, and therefore safe to start the spin test. Test 13 was successful as well, with the machine properly knowing whether the door is open or closed. The light will turn off and on with the pressure switch as well, so I believe the washer knows when the door is closed or not. I push the start button to initiate a cycle, the drain pump will pulse twice, and the the door look will 1. Lock 2. Unlock 3. Lock again (all within a few seconds). Usually around this time "door" will be displayed and the sequence stops. Leaving me with a locked door washing machine. I have to attempt to start another cycle and let the lock click back and forth and time my opening of the door to get it open again. Occasionally the door lock sequence will click 4 times. 1. Lock 2. Unlock 3. Lock 4. Unlock. Then the vent light will turn on.

Given that what you are saying and the fact that only code we appear to getting is code 23, combined with the inability to run test 14; I am inclined to think there is an issue related to the door lock somehow. For test 13 did the results happen like this Door Switch • Pressing Start/Pause will start the test • When the door is open, the Soil Level "Light" LED will blink. • When the door is closed, the Soil Level "Extra Light" LED will blink. • Closing the door causes another status LED to blink. Also code 23 has this to say “Verify the door is closed property, & door will close freely, lift the door until close free. • Replace door lock and door lock harness then run below actions * Check the door lock using service mode spin test 14 to ensure door lock operation. * verify that the door lock is not blocked by any external debris. • Check door switch continuity at J513 on the control • Check continuity of door lock position. Opened or Closed • Check for proper operation of door lock, 120VAC while activating • Check door lock wiring harness from the control to lock assembly.” We either have door lock / harness issue or control board issue

@@Theocdrepairman Yes, that is how the door switch (test 13) results turned out. Because there is a 2nd harness pre installed on the door hinge side of the washing machine (In case you want to reverse which side the door opens on). I removed the washer door and plugged the door latch actuator into that other harness/plug and had the same results. So if the harness is faulty, it would be at the other end maybe. Or maybe with the brain part of the washer. I have not done any continuity tests yet, hoping to do that today. I have even dis mounted the door lock actuator to manipulate the lock manually while running tests. If I press the black rod to manually lock the door (while holding the pressure peg in to simulate the door being closed) the machine seems to recognize that the door is locked, and it doesn't click the actuator back and forth). The cycle will still not run though.

I replaced the computer board today and the washer is working again. For those wondering.

Please subscribe to the channel. If you have code 18….Fill tub using service mode test 7 and check drain pump operation using service mode test 12. Check drain hose for blockages. This is likely the problem. You mentioned checking the drain pump. Did you check all drain pump hoses for internal blockages. I’ve seen machines not drain because things like socks, lingerie, or Covid masks clogged the drain pipes between the tub and the drain pump. If you are positive that all those are cleared then the problem is possibly one of the following. • Confirm standpipe height is within recommended guidelines. • If pump does not operate, check that the resistance of the pump matches resistance table and verify 120VAC while pump is operating at J512. • Check pressure tube for pinches where it goes through top cover • Use pressure sensor test 10 to ensure correct pressure sensor operation. • Check pressure tube for trapped water. • Ensure pressure chamber port is free from obstruction using drill bit size 1/16™ by hand so as not to drill through the inner wall. Maybe the control board is possibly bad.

We are having the same exact problem. Also happen on Christmas Day. Replaced the drain motor and still nothing. Any way to reset the main computer to factory to clear all the codes?

@@robertmccall9069 I unfortunately do not have that information, but a new pump will likely be in spec tho possible it is bad from factory. You could use multimeter to verify power is getting to the pump by simply probing the power wires to the pump when the pump is being called to activate. You could check resistance between the old and new pump to find a difference. The pump should be making a noise if operating. It will make more of a humming like nothing is moving if it is seized or has failed. It’s basically saying to check for power to the pump (120v) and is the thing shorted out or disconnected internally causing a varied resistance internal of the pump

That was the same issue with the one in the video. Check to make sure the power cord is connected to the control board securely. If the power cord is secure like this one was, then it’s likely something in the control board has failed.
