You're a lifesaver. I was contemplating of calling a programmer to fix my Audi A4 2005 model I got from someone before I stumble on this simple technique. In my case the car battery was flat and after charging it and I discovered that the remote refused to work. I was only able to open car door manually, at first I thought it was the remote battery that was weak. I got another remote battery of the same specification but no luck. After listening to this video, I tried it and It really worked like magic. I tried it the first time after counting 21 seconds but not sound of the door opening or closing, I then repeated the cycle again and behold the car switch working perfectly. Thanks man for this post.
Thanks. Three years after putting this video on you are still helping people. Just got my b7 Audi A4 central locking working. One key only so far but will try the other one tomorrow.
This helped me! I disconnected the battery of the car, and suddenly the lock/unlock didn't work anymore. Started fine, but I had to reprogram both keys to make them work on the central locking. Simple and easy😊👍 Thank you!
My 1995 1.8 a4:b5 needed a new battery replacement for the key fob. It wouldn't work after battery replacement. Found this video and follow the steps and now it works. Great tip, thanks
Thanks mate, bought a used 2005 B6 A4, came with two FOB's. One of the fob's didn't work, put in a new battery and was still clueless why the wireless functions didn't work. Thanks for the video, cheers up
Thanks! This didn't work initially on my 2003 A2. I tried again and accidentally let the unlock button go briefly re pressed it and continued my count to 25 seconds and presto! it works!. I had two non functioning keys, so repeated the procedure on the second .Again I had to interrupt the pressing of the unlock button at around the 15 second mark. But hey, I now have two working keys. Thank you again!
Thank you so much. My key was flashing but not working. Replaced battery still wont work. After just one reprogramming everything worked just fine. God bless youtube and free knowledge.
@@simracingchannel7691 I went to a guy that says he repairs key fobs and replaces batteries and reprograms them 😂😂🤣 I just told someone about this video last night who actually went to that same guy who was gonna charge me that.
Cheers just fixed mine did a re sync and hey presto plus made my spare operational as well which had never worked since I bought this car so thanks. You learn something every now and again. Great video especially the re sync bit which I knew nothing about, just shows how out of touch even ex mechanics can get with the simplest of stuff.
Brilliant...spread the news....that would have cost me $50 at the Sydney dealers....on the other hand their coffee is free.....But thanks again...you saved me a long trip and $50....
Thanks..worked great.. Funny though..I'd changed the battery a good few times before, but never had to do this. Could be that I had to get the transponder replaced recently. Anyway thanks again for info.
Mine doesn't work sometimes but it's usually months between that happening. I've had it for 8 years now and never changed the battery. The middle button never worked though. I wonder if it's dead or there's some problem somewhere. Anyways thanks for the video.
Are there any other methods besides this one? Id swear I did it differently a couple of years ago for a neighbour, it involved sitting in the car with the door locked. This is a 2004 Audi A4 tdi. This wont work for me anyway, maybe the fob is dead. Also you say hold it in position 1 but your dash has lit up and the centre display is on, I would have to turn the key to position 2 to do that? Tried it in both positions anyway, neither work, tried it with a brand new Duracell straight out of the packet, nothing. Why are there so many different instructions? Do you know of a specific method for a 2004 Audi A4 tdi?
My car hazards are on the battery died in the car I replaced it the car will start but after it runs for 10 seconds it shuts off and won’t let me turn it back over without me taking the key out and trying again but it does the same thing will this fix the problem?
Hi this sounds immobiliser or other issue based, where the key sync is for remote unlock. When my remote unlock needed resyncing I could still manually unlock and start the car. Have you scanned for codes?
Legend.. the problem solve wasn't needed as the video showed that I had placed my battery back in upside down after my car battery had been re charged.. so all well
It have always worked for me. But when I was playing whit a OBDELEVEN than both key stopped working. And then this easy tips doesn't help since I have to code both keys. Have one working still struggle whit the other. My car audi a4 b6.
@@jskraag you played with immobilizer and deleted one of the keys for the car. you need to adapt it again. you need to change in coding idk what channel to 2 keys and follow the procedure for adapting on a4 b6.
