@ModshackMerlin

It slides into the channels at either side of the boiler (towards the back) and once it's all the way back, slide it forward until it 'hooks' onto the front of the boiler frame. There's like a stepped plastic hook that has to locate on the frame to allow it to sit properly. it may take a few goes but once you've figured it out, you'll do it every time.

I've been online for hours searching for instructions on how to make my boiler work better for several hours and haven't gotten anywhere (most people aren't as good as you at explaining). I can't afford a professional. My water tank blew up and I had no water for 7 weeks. I couldn't take a shower either, nor even wash my hair or dishes. I couldn't cook. I tried to turn the old spigot off but it just kept spinning around. I tried the other spigot and it was spraying water all over the wires. No one cared at all. I eventually loosened the bolt that held that spigot on because I kept trying to turn the water off to STOP the water tank from pouring water out everywhere then turn it back on at times in order to get water to the boiler and heat the house so I wouldn't freeze. Yes I turned the handle over the tank to turn off the water supply but water kept coming in anyway. It's about 0° Celsius and I was so afraid my pipes under the house would break. When the water was on.. the tank was pouring water badly so I needed to leave it off but when the water was turned off the boiler had no water to heat my home. I was dirty and freezing. I even tried to get donations with GoFundMe on Facebook but all I got were people trying to scam me. The plumber actually quoted me $1600 for the water tank and install while the other plumbers wanted $1800. When I told him he was the cheapest... he raised his price to $1748. That upset me so much because he knew I didn't have it. I was so mad that I suffered an additional 2 weeks to find another person. I ended up paying $401 plus tax for a water tank (there was a recent flood here so it was very hard to find a tank for a full month and $300 for the install. I told the real plumber I didn't have enough money to pay him and asked if I could bu my own tank (he agreed and a week later changed his mind because he needed more money). The greedy piglet. That just upset me SO much that I refused to have him back in my house. There are 2 parts the plumber said I needed fixed on my boiler called Air vents. He wanted $300 to get 2 of those and install them. I finally found them online at only $12 each x 2 = $24 x. 06% tax. Well my point is that theif wanted $300 ($275 to install these two little pieces that ya just hand screw in). If I can understand how to put them in and what to do along with it then I can save money I really don't have. I can hear "loads" of bubbles in the entire house. When I put the brass air vents on the boiler I don't know if I'm supposed to turn the water off, turn the boiler switch off or maybe electricity or what. I'm trying to find directions (I keep finding videos of large boilers while mine is so small). One of the vents are leaking badly and the other seems clogged. I need to know where to find that hose that I put water back in after bleeding. I don't think I have that but if I buy one I wouldnt even know where it goes.

I had the same problem. If you look carefully at the blue lever you can see that it supposed to pull down a pin (which goes into the valve). I suppose that this pin can get seized up over time. With a small hammer, if you tap upwards on the area of the lever attached to the pin (*not* the free end of the lever!) it should free this pin up. It worked for me!

I don’t have the bleu thing, just 2 black ones. One doesn’t move the other one I moved but it’s not doing anything 😭

I think if you’ve got two black ones it needs a key

Tried this but just got lots of water pour out. II discovered a leak under the boiler, found the pressure was 0 so thought I’d see if it was to do with this. I guess I will need to call an engineer!

Help, I used to be able to do this when necessary but now for some reason the blue lever won’t budge!

I tried this and no water seemed to flow where it was supposed to go, it just came out over my arm. I collected half a large bowl of water before i chickened out.
