Mine has small leaks at all the hose attachments looks like some behind the pulley should I get all new clamps as well as reseal everything?
@abcdeinformation3048
@abcdeinformation3048 2 года назад
You should get a new hose if its leaking from hose. You can reuse the clamp. Suction hose tends to brittle and not capable of sealing anymore. So as the high pressure side.

I replaced the o rings and bled out the air, no bubbles but still whines, would this help with the whine?
@abcdeinformation3048
@abcdeinformation3048 4 месяца назад
Technically if you have no leak and it whines when turning with fluid full, its your pump that gone bad. But resealing it will not fix it.

Whats the best way to remove the o-ring inside the shaft? Its difficult to remove. Very tight space. Tried prying it out with angled pliers and flat screw. Im stuck on this..
@abcdeinformation3048

Yes its a bit difficult.angle pliers doesnt work good. But long flat screw driver I found best.

i rebuilt my pump and now my car is hard to turn, it's a 2001 crv :( any suggestions ?
@abcdeinformation3048
@abcdeinformation3048 3 года назад
Sorry for late reply. I do have that too. If everything you put back together went well, try to give it a gas at around 4k rpm, at the same time turn the steering wheel. It should loosen up those veins and start working properly.
@chamakiitoh23

@@abcdeinformation3048 i did on my 2006 civic but as i drive an hit 2k rpm and try to make a turn the steering wheel seems to get very stiff any suggestions?
@abcdeinformation3048
@abcdeinformation3048 3 года назад
@@chamakiitoh23 hi. Try to do it while not driving. Vehicle on Park, rev to 4k rpm, at the same time turn the steering wheel as the veins inside the pump is probably sticky. Another possible cause is cross contamination of different fluid or using some stop leak prior to your rebuild.
@chamakiitoh23
@chamakiitoh23 3 года назад
@@abcdeinformation3048 thanks i think it might be cross contamination since i had power steering fluid leak i was using power steering from autozone and my girl one day also added transmission fluid thinking it was power steering but i did bleeded out and added some power steering from honda when i changed the power steering pump

@@chamakiitoh23 every single credible source on the internet will tell you what happens when you don't use Honda/Acura fluids in their hydraulic systems. This isn't an area to cheap out on. Also, the genuine seals/ o rings are like less than a dollar each. Zero reason to get anything else

Why would you use some Chinese garbage seals when you can get the genuine ones for a total of like $5? Not trying to insult here, but I would understand if there were a huge price difference or if genuine was difficult to source but they're not

Different people has different preferences. This is an instructional video. Its also your choice to use different kind of gloves, different kind of tool just to get the job done. And so as different brand of parts like OE parts. I appreciate your comments though. Deffinitely has a point.

@@fieryvengeance2795 re read my original post. Apologies, some people like to do jobs right the 1st time so we only have to do the job one time. If you have no understanding of what happens when you use junk parts, please never own or touch a German car. The only real reason German cars are unreliable in the States is because of moronic comments like this & people thinking they can use whatever parts they want & do the job however they want. Honda/Acura is more forgiving, but check out Eric the Car Guy's experience with using junk parts on his TL timing belt/water pump job & observe the outcome if you can't understand my words here. Doing that to your own car is fine, but setting a poor example for others to learn by is pathetic & lazy.

I dont think so. Cause if you do, you could also call owning a phone is foolish. Owning computer is foolish. I could guarantee you at least 1 part of your phone or computer are chinese product.
