His story is similar to mines. Been doing this for almost 2 years. No courses, no training. Just bought a flatbed and went out looking for pallets. Best financial decision ever.
If you want to Be Like, then you have to Act Like. Everything has already been done so dont try and reinvent the wheel. Follow the path that has already been proven to work and stay the course. If the formula is proven to be successful, then all you have to do is stick with it and you're guaranteed success, it's only a matter of time!!!
Major Respect Varnie & Matt Pallet Co!! You setting the bar up there man and its too all good! I’m inspired by your work ethic and knowledge. I may need to book a trip out to Baltimore and pick your brain too lol. Peace n Blessings to you n your fam!
The problem is that if a side hustle is discovered and broadcast it online, eventually it becomes over saturated by people trying to get into the same things and also businesses catch on and discover how to make profits for themselves and cut off the middle man... in summary, if you discover an untapped side hustle no one knows about, keep it to yourself or charge an unafforable amount so only select few learn it... when its given for free, the side husle is no longer effective
This guy is a liar saying he has no experience. He and everyone else selling these BS courses are already in logistics and know if it can be can be sold, they can act as gurus to influence people to think they can quit their job to make this a full time thing when it’s only a supplementary weekend income. He’s making it seem like a person just easily starts this without heavily investing office/equipment and warehouse space. He probably has years logistics and transporting experience. The average person will go broke or in debt if they don’t have a business network. This is why I stick to pressure washing. I can find so many things to wash that people didn’t know existed and that’s just my side income on top of my 65k/yr job. Ironically I hate other blue collar people with a passion.
Lol funny thing is I was going around myself today asking companies if they had pallets they didn’t need. I also found a company A with pallets in the back went to company B which is right in front of A who needs pallets
@@ErickFooty the company that needed the pallets stored and shipped items for online businesses like Amazon. The company that gave me the pallets was a furniture warehouse
its almost impossible to get pallets around here, sure you can get 1 or 2 if you wanna drive 30 miles. or if you want to spend $5-10 on broken, warped, rotting pallets. Ive been looking all over even for just moderate conditioned ones for crafting with. but its almost cheaper and in some cases cheaper to buy fresh wood from the lumber yard even with this stupid woodflation.
You asked the same question I had when I first heard about this. There are established businesses that rely on pallets for their inventory regularly so they must already know where to get them from and have their pallet-using logistics already set up. But suddenly they're going to need you? It doesn't make any sense.
Services and businesses are not static or set in stone. There will be cracks and opportunities, or cheaper and even better customer service that will always open the doors for new entrants.
I'm skeptical but curious. By now I imagine everyone and their grandma is trying to do this... Do companies roll their eyes when you try to get or sell pallets?
Hi my boyfriend makes 1,200 a day reselling pallets. He started about 3 months ago and brings in 12k month. Definitely think it worth it to get into all you need is a pick up truck and trailer. So far the pallets yards he used have welcomed him with open arms and are really impressed with how many he brings in which is about 200 each load. The only tricky part is getting the pallets some companies won’t allow it and some will just have to talk to store managers. Hope this helps.
@@saudiaj1108 why when I look on Facebook marketplace there’s like 100 different ads selling pallets for anywhere from $1 to $9. Is it not this saturated everywhere? A lot of people are offering custom sizes, drop off included etc etc. Seems like you’d be stuck with pallets in this market.
No wonder there are raggly cheap pallets all over the place, that break once a pallet jack lifts a load on them..🤣!..The only quality pallets that last are the pallets cut from wood mills themselves, that are built for endurance and stability.
I make fresh pallets from scrap from start to finish but for the moment I'm just holding on to them I'm renting a garage and stocking them there I used to work at a pallet Factory and used to make a lot of 48x40s and I kind of copied their way of work just made a mold and that's how I make my pallet quite easy.
I was literally just thinking the same thing. Since pandemic I lost my entire business. So buying a truck would be tough. Wonder if I could rent a truck per day and use that as cost of doing business.
Yes, just as stated above. I rented a 10×30 storage unit the first few months when getting into this. I used a battery operated nail gun for repairs. Make sure the storage unit is a drive up unit. Hope that helps.
I've been contemplating this for a couple weeks now. I live close to an area that is getting lots of warehouses (Amazon, Walmart, UPS, Lennox, Ball, Nestle, ect) somewhere about 40-50 warehouses and at least 20 more going up in the next year! I've called a couple pallet recyclers and it doesn't seem like any of them are buying. My question is how do I find buyers and who do I ask for when I approach these warehouses to ask what they do or want for their pallets. I'm serious when I say these warehouses probably have 50-100k (or more) pallets each and I think when this current building boom is over there might be close to 70 warehouses that have over a million pallets!!! And I really want a piece of the pie! I only have a 16' enclosed trailer now, and really no place to store pallets. Where or who should I be talking to about a place to store pallets? Also what do you think about this name for a company : purple pallet people, and eventually have purple trucks?
There are companies that buy pallets like scrap metal. Google for your area. You get MORE money for finding a business that needs them and wants to pay more
Not legal advice and depends on your own risk/liability comfort level but in most cases you can start a business as a sole proprietor to test the waters, then incorporate and get insurance once you get traction and feel like it’s something you’re gonna stick with.
@@NickLoper Thank you much! I saw John Wilker w/ his pallet biz and got inspired too. I don't have the money for his course, and he doesn't offer a payment plan. He should offer a monthly plan but oh well! I sold some to some small businesses but not that many at once. The fact that Varnie has ppl coming TO HIM gives me hope!! If I can make 500 or find 500 pallets maybe I too can have ppl come to me instead of vice versa! [which is a prob b/c i can only afford a pickup truck] ty for the vid & God bless The Varnie Man!
What I've gotten from the course is a general understanding of the business. I'm 8 modules in. I put it down for a few weeks to focus on my regular job, but im not making what I want to make in my regular job and now I'm diving back into the Simplest Biz again. I do wish the course was more precise in a lot of the education. And I also wish it was more professional. Its kind of like several videos slapped together. John could have definitely put a few more bucks into a more professional production for the course. But, it's a great start and from what I hear,, the FB private group is very valuable. Once I get to module 10, I'll jump in the group and do more of a followup. Overall, the business seems very interesting and profitable.
Ok so here is how that works, they will ask you for $10k, than $20k, than $30k than $40k …I think you get the idea by now. Remember, YOU are the one that they need, you don’t need them. You were helping them clean out their warehouse so that they can have more space for their products. In reality, they were supposed to be paying you to clear out their warehouse and not the other way around. That’s why I refused to pay. Interestingly enough, my competitor ended up leaving them hanging and they had asked me if I’ll be willing to get the pallets for free, but I respectfully declined, because I have several Amazon warehouses and I’m fine with those accounts.
Thanks for watching, Ibrahim. My understanding is that many pallet sellers like Varnie start by sourcing from local companies who receive their inventory on pallets, but don’t really have a solid system to dispose of them or re-use them.
All of you talk about the fact that you make so much money yet no one says where to get the pallets these business that willets talks about all recycle there stuff they aren’t willing to just give it away for free
The only pallets on that truck that will worth money with a 48x40s the rest of them were trash was considered scrap and I guarantee you this guy don't live on the east coast cuz you don't make money like that in the east coast one day 48x40 is the Pay Dirt the rest of it is trash
