Dude, you are AWESOME!!! I've been trying everything I could think of and then found your video. Held the button down and turned the key to ignition and it did it!! I was like, HOLY CRAP IT WORKED!!!
AMAZING...thanks for the information. I did change the speed sensor and the speedometer did not work. After seeing your videos and following your instruction and problem resolve. Very simple and easy. Keep up the good work . From PA WG (US Amy retired disabled veteran)
Well my Speedometer and Tach didn't work at all. Did this and both started working again. You just saved me hours of work trying to diagnose and repair AWESOME.....
For anyone here looking for a solution for the infamous "NO BUS" issues these and other Chrysler dashes get. Mine would randomly lose contact with the computer. Truck would run fine, but no gauges and warning lights come on with "NO BUS" in odometer. I fought with this issue for years and finally fixed it. Pull the cluster out, it's easy, pulls out like an old video game cartridge. Use electronic contact cleaner on the metal tabs on the back of the cluster and where they contact in the dash. I had no visible material come off in the cleaning, but it fixed it and hasn't cut out again even once, in three years.
Bro, if this works and it doesnt come back in 30 days....im sending you a cashapp for real...cuz nobody nowhere on the web has the answer. And ive tried everything, was your gas mileage poor burning more gas too during the "No bus" episodes? Send me your cashapp, cuz im trying this first this in the am
@@gabronjones9886 Nah, it ran fine just no cluster function. I read up forever on how to fix it and that's the one that worked for me. The ECU can also be bad and cause the NO BUS issue as well though. Those are like $250 new and maybe $50 from a junkyard. GL, brother. You don't need to give me nothing.
You helped me immensely. There should be a way to send you an appreciation fee for this. I would gladly send you $25 just for this help. I looked but couldn't see how, So all I can do is say thanks a bunch. If there is a way I will pay. TANNKS again.
Thanks bro saved me a 45 min trip to Compton for the second time !! Fuckin awesome I appreciate u and this video! I've seen some many videos of people saying the f ING tipm too cause they all want your money 💰 this helped me out thank u !
sweet that was an easy 3min look it up and go do it fix thanks for the vid.... for me i believe unplugging the alternator connection might of caused mine (tach stopped working all the sudden) to stop working. i unplugged the cable to get it out of my way of the changing out the temp sensor and for my socket to get in there and see what i was doing. unplugged of course. no , i didn't bother disconnecting the battery.... shame on me... (99' 5.9L) but that was my scenario. 1 of 3 things coulda did something.
does this work for situations where you have to take the needles off to replace them and make them work correctly instead of being off and not calibrated so that all the gauges are not off?
Dude I would like to thank you, I change my alternator went to start my dodge Dakota 2003 my speedometer was reading 120 and it was stuck , I was like WHAT @%#$@ ! , I did what you said and Walla , your advice fix it , thank again, know if I can stop the miss fire in my number 2 cylinder I will be golden 👍
I have a 2002 Dodge Ram Van 1500 (only with about 77,000 miles on it) that will start, but not turn over! Battery good, starter was replaced. Had the PCM replaced and it did not fix problem; hence, I returned it for my credit. When the old PCM was reinstalled, it gave a code that it was not "talking" to the gauge control module (gauge cluster); sent that to another company who said they could fix, but just heard back that they do not fix and are returning it to me. Any suggestions as to where I can send it to be fixed or will your procedure above fix the problem. HELP!!
Swapped out my battery 05 ram 1500..all my lights are on ..needles stay in place..did this they all turned to the right and back but don't go back to normal after start my truck, all I did was swap a battery?
If their is negleclegnce on the shops end... make them pay for it. If not... sounds like it might be just a single wire possibly pinched on the reassembly or burn pcb path. You can solder a new piece of wire from trace to trace
Hello , I thought this method was only to test and calibrate the gauges. Unfortunately I hoped it would fix my gauges but I still have nothing no fuel tach Speedo etc. and no bus light. It runs fine but no gauges at all. I also replaces the cluster and still the same thing, the only time they work is if I do the calibration test you have done. If you or your subscribers have any ideas that would help I would be greatful
It made my gas gage move but when I turn engine on its still below empty and I just had fuel pump replaced granted I dont have a lot of gas in there but it doesn't seem to be registering anything. But your video works perfectly I have s 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 v8 5.9 engine can you please give me some idea what I can do next
99 dakota. Speedometer stopped the other day completely. It would only work once I got over 20mph and now it won't work at all unless the truck is warm. Odo, Tach, and everything else works fine. Tried this test and the speedometer didn't even move. Next warm day I'll attempt to clean the connector harness behind the cluster, as the dash was recently disassembled for a heater core, hopefully just dirty or lose, if that doesn't work then guess I'm going to have to install a whole new one.
@@greygoosemafia No codes or errors whatsoever. Clear on OBD scan, clear on self diagnostic as shown in video besides movement on just the speedometer itself. I'm hoping its just a dirty or loose connection behind it on the harness.
Hey richard, I have a 1999 3.9 magnum dakota 4x4. My dash lights are out. I have checked every fuse, all good, I did the dash reset, it worked but, DID NOT REMEDY IT!! PLEASE HELP...Also have no blower fan. Watched all videos I can find showing location of resistor. I have the resistor to replace, everyone is telling me its under windshield wiper under hood on cowl.. or behind glove box..its not. Last shop told me its very likely its just under top of dash.
Resister is located under the th dash on the passenger side near the blower motor to the left. Towards the drivers side. Right next to it. Its lo gosh and slides up into the heater box
That's a loaded question there. Depends on what you and what scanners are available vs what the make will let you do with it. Alot of newer clusters communicate directly to your bcm and pcm. Some aren't switchable. Programmable thing... but some something like a 2nd Gen Ram you can just swap. Some have a wire on the back you can roll back others you can't
Richard, I did what you said to do and everything did just as the video except the speedometer. I can't get it to work. It just stopped about two weeks ago. I changed the ABS/Speed sensor in the rear differential and I still have no speedometer and my ABS and Brake lights are still on. Any ideas?
Check the connections and wires in between. Make sure the sensor isn't clogged with metal shavings in the differential. It's a magic on the other end of the sensor. Check diff fluid. Could be a cluster malfunction
My cluster is flashing and pulsing when i held the button it stopped and worked normal read check then once I let off it went back to the gushed randomly moving
I got an ‘01 Durango, dashboard lights at night don’t glow, can’t see anything that isn’t digital and it bugs me. Any ideas? Don’t really want to tear the dash apart.
Hey I reset my gage cluster but the speedometer still stuck at 0. It stopped working last week when my exhaust fell off my 2007 dodge dakota. I put the exhaust back but speedometer still broke. Any ideas?
2000 Dodge Durango 5.9L V8. Tried the reset, did not work. All I got was a check engine code for P0500 and a check gauges light. No dials moved. When driving, if I turn my headlights on, my cluster stops working. I tried replacing the cluster itself but the problem still is happening. Anybody have any ideas?
Hey i followe your instructions and now the truck wont start.. looks like it drained the battery is that normal? Cause the battery is about a year old.
This doesn’t work on my 96 Dodge Dakota v6. We’ve changed the speed sensor and the cluster and all gauges work except the speedometer. This reset doesn’t work on a 96
One question for anyone tht can help when i do the test all my gages ate good besides the RPH is goes to 20 then 55 then 80 but isnt it supposed to go down to 120?
My transmission is filled to the correct level but when I break hard, the gauge goes to zero and then after I’ve stopped, it comes back up. What could be the problem? Thanks in advance.
I did not have very good luck with this. I have a 98 ram 1500 my gauges are all dead therefore my mileage is not counting, also after it says check it starts counting up from 900 and stops at 999 and do not do anything after that… any other suggestions please?
I'm trying to figure out why my fuel gauge is acting up. I did this and it didn't say anything was wrong. I've had the tank sending unit replaced so idk what else it could be. Anyone have this problem? 01 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4
I'm going through the same thing with my 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 nothing was said but my needle moved yet I was worried it was a wire behind it hopefully that proves its not. I think we have to find box with relays and fuses the big ones. Also maybe we could find a way to reset pcm. Computer. If you figure it out or anyone please tell me I never know how much gas is in my truck it stays at below empty won't move other than for this test. But doesn't tell me anything
If your gauge doesnt move with the movement of the float valve inside the tank... you have a mechanical problem inside the cluster. You can send them off to get rebuilt at a cost
I done the reset nothing happens my gauges pulse all the time when driving gas gauge don't work mileage keeps blinking off and on could itean a bad cluster or what
I just bought a 99 ram 2500 5 speed. My speedometer isn't working. Would this help see if the speedometer works or would that more likely be the speed sensor? The ABS and BRAKE light are on also.
Hello Richard, my gas gauge on my 99 dodge grand caravan was going up and down after fuel pump was changed, with a full tank of gas until it stopped working all together, gas gauge was working fine, before fuel pump was exchanged, I'll try this reset, if not, is there a fuel gauge fuse on these vans? Thanks for your help.
@@greygoosemafia they worked fine until I changed the resistor for the fuel gauge which still doesn’t work after replacing the fuel pump and sending unit. I had also got led headlights and fog lights. However, when I turn just my fog lights on the high beams come on and the indicator if faint on the cluster. But when I put normal halogen bulbs in it works like normal. I’ve checked my wiring everything fine and works normally besides that. I’m stumped on what could be the issue. I’ve already changed the turn signal relay with an led relay. But still have this issue. I’ve looked around and people have said to try and put a load resistor in-line with my headlights and the factory harness so that the truck pulls the normal amount of watts to energize the relay but I can’t find one anywhere and I don’t want to cut the wires seeing as everything works except for the fog lights turn on my high beams.
Richard I did follow your instructions and nothing. 2001 Dodge ram pick up 5.9 It all started like this. I disconnected a battery cable, I installed new spark plugs and wires, before that I had to remove the filter housing, in order to reach the distributor which is in the back. Truck did not start because battery was dead. I bought a new one, I did not put the filter housing to start the the truck and it did started, but all the gauges did not move nothing. I install the filter housing tight it and start the truck, gages don't move yet, next to the battery there is a fuse box, check all of them, I found one open 140 A. I bought it installed and still all the gauges included the radio and AC don't work yet, it blows hot air. What could be the problem, thanks, I wait for your answer.
My first place to start would be looking at all my fuses and relays. Check your "iod" fuse. The main fuse is for your alt. Check your ground. Get a ground distribution diagram fkr your truck trace and voltage drop your grounds.
@@greygoosemafia thanks Richard I will try to check what you say I'm not a mechanic I'm trying to find a problem myself before I take it to a mechanic I know one guy he's expensive thank you
@@greygoosemafia hey buddy following your instructions I checked the fuses one by one and I found three broken ones one 20 and two 10s gauges are working perfectly, one of the Broken fuses was for the radio. Thank you so much Richard.
Ah beans. Did not work for me. Cluster backlight works, turn signals work, high beam indicator works. No gauges or warning lights work. At a loss as to the why
