How To Reset Radio Security Code Acura CL | MB Motorsports

This issue is pretty typical. You install a new battery or re-connect the battery and your radio is now disabled and generating and error code. Why? -- This is a security feature and when the car is purchased new it will come with the reset code but many times when purchasing a used vehicle this code is nowhere to be found.
Watch this brief tutorial from MB Motorsports in Tinton Falls NJ on how to get your error code number, find the security code, enter it and get your system working again.
This video was based around a 2002 Acura CL -- but this will work with many of the Acura CL and TL after 2001. Hope this helps and enjoy!

Awesome thanks a mill, worked exactly as instructed couldn't been any clearer on the instructions, beautifully worked on my 2003 MDX Locked out stereo after a transmission replacement luckily the the code was written saved on the vehicle manual. Thanks again saved me a headache and a waste of time trip to the dealer to schedule an appointment etc.. thank God for people like your that still exist to help out the busy professionals.

Just got an Acura TL 2002 that was given to my son with 207k on it, starter went bad after 3 months so I had to disconnect the battery to replace the starter. Got the code from the Honda website and tried 9 times. Now the ERROR code comes on, so I pulled the radio fuse located on the passenger side fuse #9. That should reset it to CODE and not ERROR. Drove to the underground parking near my house and put in the code. It works!!! Thanks @ Cabin on the lake

I could not get my code to work until I blocked the radio from receiving any signals. Acura told me to go to an underground parking garage or tunnel - or take the dash apart and disconnect the antenna so the radio could not receive any signals. However, I just covered the rear window with aluminum foil, then punched in the code, and it worked like a charm. I hope this tip helps other people.

There’s a connector inside on the rear window for the antenna. Just disconnect that next time

Oh man thanks for the video. I had a Honda truck with the code after we put a new battery in and was planning on going by a dealership but checked the glove box and there was a card in there with the code on it (SWEEET!) Thanks!!!

bought a CL recently and had to get transmission fixed. learned the hard way they have bad transmissions. but its a damn fun car to drive.

if u have an acura cl, check under the hood. there is a close to the windshield. under the top of the fusebox there should be ur radio code and navi code written, if u have a navi...just found mine there

Thanks. This was very helpful! I was able to get my radio working again. Thankfully, I'd gotten the code from the previous owner, so I didn't need the radio serial number. Not really sure how I would have gotten that. I guess the radio would have had to be removed?

I was in Brooklyn one day and walked by a man carrying a car radio. Nothing clicked. Kept walking a little while and came across the car from which that radio had been stolen. Ironically later that day on my way back to my car, I see the lady crying her eyes out beside the car with the busted out window and missing radio. Crack heads' value system is different.

Update: fixed it..for some reason the code in my glove box was one number off. They were the same numbers but in the wrong order.so watch out or that. I looked it up online again in a different order “6070” to “0670” and got a completely different code. It worked immediately. Good luck 👍

you lost your code. get rid of your old one and replace it with a nice new one DVD player be nice in your car I got my code but I want a new one. you can watch pornos on it and it has a USB stick to play music onto it. if you looking for your card maybe in the glove box or in your car book.
