This little nugget of information (which VTECH omits from the manual) is exactly what I needed to get a used/replacement handset to synch with my existing setup. Thanks!!
Hours of searching for info about registering and deregistering handsets and watching video after video and nothing worked until I found yours. I had purchased a replacement handset on eBay for my vtech and was thinking I may have wasted my money. Your simple video got it to work. Thank you!
I knew there was a master reset. This was the same exact issue I had. I followed your code and boom. Registered it to the base and alive it came. I greatly appreciate what you did. You savee me at least $50 or more. Thank you. Mac KK9R
After a quick study of information from this site I was able to reprogram my handsets any very short period of time. The information was very easy to understand and very helpful.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! For several days, 2 of our 3 cordless ATT handsets could not dial out. The code in the first video I watched did not work but this one was fantastic and such a quick solution. May the karma of your gift return to you ASAP.
Oh my gosh, thank you, thank you, thank you!! I have been looking for a solution for DAYS!! Had to buy a new base unit with 5 phones and the two accessory phones I had would not connect despite everything I tried. Even Vtech had no clue how to fix it!! You have saved my sanity! Thanks again.
Thank you so much for your help. I had no idea why my second phone wasn't working anymore. I reset it, and it is working fine. I was ready to buy new phones. You are a blessing. Thank you, again.
Thanks so Much!!! I Have an identical at&t phone as my moms. Hers went bad so i bought her a new one.Instead of throwing out the handset from her old phone i was able to deregister it and use it for my phone system. Now i have an additional handset.THANKS SOOOOO MUCH!!!!
Thank you!!! I just bought a new base because my 10 year old one died and I couldn't get the old handsets to re-register following the manual. Then I found your video with this simple code/instructions and it worked. Thanks for saving me from buying new handsets!
This guy knows his stuff! Just following his directions will register the new handset. The phone manual does not give any of these directions. That's sad. I've written these simple directions down and will use them if more handsets are added. Thanks much!
This code is not covered in the instruction manual for the phone system. I don't know why but it's typical AT&T of late. Thank you very much for this video. It worked for me immediately.
I have the AT&T handset that needs reseting. I have the "Out of Range and No Power at base" text that you list I've tried the sequence that you and some others list, BUT... After I press the Select, Menu button, nothing happens other than the back light comes on,as expected. any ideas?
How do you turn down the ringer volume? I had other AT&T phones and they were easy to ajust. We are in an office situation with various extenstions. We have a receptionist and if she is away all the phone extensions are ringing and too loud, but we can only sclience each call and the volume can not be ajusted.
Is there a way to reset your phones for caller ID? We have Vtech, a base that’s on a landline then 4 extra bases that just plug in, none of the phones are showing caller ID
I have 3 ea Vtech model CS6909-15 Handsets displaying "out of range or no power at base". The 4th handset in the base is registered and functional. This method/code was not successful on any of the 3 handsets affected.
I have an At&t TL88102 and the handset volume it doesn't work as use to be the cordless phone has a very low volume. I can still hear the other person speaking (barely), and the connection is clear (no static) The volume button does appear to work: I can adjust the volume up and down; it's just that the maximum volume is barely audible. I've replaced the battery and tried different channels with no joy
Would you happen to know how to mute the base ringer on ATT 92271? The manual says press the up down arrow buttons on base but there are no up/down volume buttons on the base!
This didn’t completely work for me but when I held the hold button on base it got me where i could deregister my handset then went to settings on base again, then scrolled down to register handset select and had to hit the # sign on handset and then that worked for me. All these tips did help but needed to do more to get mine to work.
This worked for me to reset the handset, and I was able to pair it with the new base and it can make & receive calls. However, for some reason, the Caller ID doesn't work now, and I can't seem to set the 'Home Area Code' or the date/time... I can set it all the way through to the AM/PM field, but then it sits there, and pressing Menu (or anything else) brings me back to the main screen, discarding the date/time, and I keep seeing the message, "Not available at this time." If anyone knows what this means I'd appreciate the info.
Hi Andrew...I have an AT&T cordless phone DECT 6.0 3111-2 is the model number. The ringer is set on silent. I have tries all that I can to take it off. I watched your video and I looked for settings but when I scroll through my options it doesn't give me "settings". If I go to volume and turn the volume up as far as it will go it does not take it off of silent. I thought maybe resetting the phone would help but with no settings option I don't know where to go. Please help if you can.
I bought a v-tech handset from eBay and it says connecting in the window. I can't get it to register or deregister. I de-registered the original handsets and that didn't help either.I can't get into the menu either. Do you know how I can get it to register to the base?
Hello, sorry, I have an at & t e5813b and I can't make it connect to the base, the screen says another headset is on or out of range, can you help me please
I have a VTECH DS6321 base unit w/3 handsets and tried your code on 2 of them. The handsets won't register to the base and I get a "Registration Failed" message followed by the opening message "Press and hold FIND HANDSET on base for 4 sec, then press # on handset. (Note: The Find Handset beeps 3-4 times then turns off during the registration process, but the handset continues to try and register.) The 3rd handset cannot find the base unit "Out of Range OR No power at base". I think base registration may have failed. Is there a way to reset the base registration without a phone? At this point, even a factory reset would be OK, but would like to try and keep existing messages and phone book, if possible.
Do the bases go bad? My phone isn’t that old and I’ve tried everything. The red light is now stuck on the base as if I’m hitting the page button. Nothing else at all is working. They go to register and they say “registration failed”. Maybe it’s my cable modem? Ugh!!!!!!!!!
