Kris, I just wanted you to know how much God is using you in my life right now. Your podcasts are an answer to prayer. Big prayers that I’ve been praying for a long long time not just for me but for our church. Praise God for who he is. For those that he chooses to represent him and for his never ending love for us.

Self control is one thing but self deception is another. Telling yourself it doesn’t bother you to be in a relationship with this people when it does is denial just because you aren’t showing it. For me I wasn’t even aware it was the main trigger for migraines. Disconnect from people is necessary; we are human and have feelings about being mistreated. God bless and treat yourself with the respect you show others

So true, our reactions are always our own responsibility. I appreciate your suggestion to ‘rewind the tape’ to learn from the difficult interaction. One question I ask myself when I do that is, “What were you afraid of Jane?” Often, I uncover that I was afraid of being embarrassed, unliked/unloved, or proven wrong. Then I ask myself a few other questions…Is that true? Why does that matter? Now what? Thanks for another great teaching Kris!

That is a very important message. Thank you! It is very very difficult when you are tortured every day and feeling absolutely lost, absolutely in despair, ill near to death and without any power left after 25 years in this mess. But with Gods help l will try. I was at the point of giving up and God send me this message. From Germany

Rewind: I will often rewind even if I haven't reacted externally, but was still triggered internally. Those triggers are almost just as yucky feeling as reacting badly. I want to be FREE! I don't want to be triggered anymore. At least not in the ways I am currently. It's a lifelong sanctification process, I assume. 💜💛💜

Such sage words and guidance, I've come to lean into on the regular. Thank you. I recently reviewed and discovered that i have my own pattern of going what I call "mute" during toxic encounters. I am certain I adopted this coping mechanism in my formative years. Working on and wanting to learn the effectiveness and the Presence of speaking in the moment. Jesus did that so remarkably well. My son is serious about a girl we are learning has different "faces". Trying to avoid alienation and speak truth in love.

Advice keep your distance from them and pray before you encounter them and never answer them at all why they want a reaction from you they are broken children that never knew the word no it is a parents job to discipline their child in a godly way they are unrighteous individuals and the only person that can change a person's heart is Jesus Christ .They are the sons of perdition .A suggestion to all before encountering these people choose a biblical song and listen to it on your way to work and if you can even sing it and that will minister to your heart and most importantly read your Holy Scriptures before leaving home you need to be prepared why the enemy is out there to seek you out let God deal with them why they are lost individuals .

I have been estranged from my mother and sister for 7 years. My mother is dieing and i decided to see. Twice i saw her and it went fine. The 3rd time my sister happened to be at my mums, she wouldnt let me in the house. 1st time in 7 years since ive seen her. I said ive come in peace. It made no difference to her. She eventually let me in. I was fuming inside. Mum was ok. My sister though another story. Plus my daughter was there out the back with her. She is a flying monkey who has sided withmy sister. Out the back my siste, enraged, i never want to see you again. I couldn't keep mymouth shut. Im so hurt by all this. Even on my mums death bed thete is no change and then my mum sided with my sister. The worst part is that my daughter cant see what they are doing. Not reacting in this situation when your mum is dieing is hard.

I had a Christian send me a Very Mean and Ugly email. I said I was sorry and am trying to reconcile BUT She won't even Acknowledge me or see me TO reconcile?? What Should I do??

If they are a part of the same congregation then I would take it to your pastor. You reached out first, that didn't work, so the next step would be to go to your pastor or an elder you trust. Edit: Matthew 18: 15-17 15 “If your brother or sister sins, go and point out their fault, just between the two of you. If they listen to you, you have won them over. 16 But if they will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ 17 If they still refuse to listen, tell it to the church; and if they refuse to listen even to the church, treat them as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Hi.. I had someone send me an email that was Very Ugly and Mean and she is a Christian and I said I was Sorry but she won't acknowledge me and says she doen't want to talk with me. How do I reconcile with somenone who won't see you or accept your reaching out to reconcile?? The Bible says to reconcile before offering your Gifts at the Alter But HOW do I do that if this person won't even see me or Ackmowledge me??

You don’t reconcile. Sometimes it’s not possible. The Lord may of shut that door. The person sounds toxic to me. You did the right thing. You apologized, she is still throwing an ax. Move on. Live your best life. Don’t be a doormat for her.

I wonder about your apology and whether it was a full apology or not. I need to hear, “I apologize for (specifically what I did or said) and that it (what the impact was on the other person. For example, that it offended you, embarrassed you, hurt you.) I was wrong (no excuse or justification). What can I do to make it up to you? (How can I repair the damage?). Your friend may need time to cool off. She may not be ready to forgive you. You can pray for her, pray for God to guide you the next time you’re about to offend, send her a handwritten note or small gift (depending on how close your relationship is). Take care.

You did your part. Move on. Sometimes people just don’t want to reconcile and we have to respect their choice. Don’t feel bad about it. You did the right thing by trying. That’s all you can do.

Someone please help me, I need information. I've tried christian counseling before and it left me with a bad experience, I already have trust issues but that experience has left me hopeless and thinking "why even try". I need to find access to a Christian counselor with empathy and patience that is near me, I don't know how to go about figuring out what credentials to look for. I'm currently in a very toxic relationship with narcissist parents, I'm not the only child as I also have two younger sisters who aren't treated any better than I am. I won't leave them to deal with my parents alone, that's not an option, but I need resources. I need someone to talk to who understands, someone who isn't going to give me a to do list but who is going to help lift my head back above water. Someone please help, I don't know how much longer I can keep doing this...

I'm sorry to hear of what you're going through Adam. As with any profession, there are good and not so good fits. I would encourage you to not give up. You may have to go through a few until you find the right one, but it's worth the work. May God's healing hands be upon you!

are you an adult? if so, I trust u have a job; if not, go get one asap. you need to leave and go rent a room in a house; or b a room mate in a 2 bdrm apaprtment or something. if u wont leave your siblings then you all are going to go insane; so save yourself initially then u can later find a way to save your siblings; possibly even relatives or friends can take them in. we had my brothers friend live with us for months bc his parents were so toxic.
