Hands Down the 3M drill powered kit is the best overall for restoring headlights. I've tried Toothpaste and just about all the other big name brands of polishing compound only products out there and the 3M was the only one that actually worked. After I restored my headlights, I sprayed with Krylon Enamel Clearcoat with UV protective coating for 3 full coats. 2 years later and they're still looking new on my 08 Ram

That's the thing about it all. The Compound polishes are OK if you have light haze on them from not cleaning and polishing properly for a few months or a year. After the protective coating has been destroyed by the UV light, the only way to get it clean is to sand it all down and polish it out. There just isn't a quick fix for them once they get to a certain point.

Ive used those 3m kits several times and you are exactly right, they work AWESOME! Ive always bought them at walmart because its more convenient but they are around $20 but its still worth it. Good video!

Good video man. I use a bottle of soap and water with a DA sander using 500, 800, 1200 to 2000 grit and then add some clear coat or i just buff it out, but most of the materiel I use is left over from painting cars. Keep It up man.

Good advice... I used to work at a body shop and we did it the same way as you... Works great!

Do It Yourself Bri Yes it does. It's a hobby I have to paint and fix cars. I'm mostly into welding, but still I'm still going to college so it keeps me busy an pays for my books.

Everyone who wet sands should watch your stream less mess is quicker and what a difference ✨️😍👍The only thing I would do is change the clearcoat to Maguires Clearcoat with added UV protection!! The 3m kit is the only kit that uses the correct grit sizes and a genuine trizact p3000 pad which is magical in my opinion, Other home cheap methods are a waste of time and money!! Can't understand a low count in the comments????One other thing you missed a step? When you finished using the p3000 trizact pad clean lens with any glass cleaner spray!! Wipe and dry!! All the rest is perfect thanks for sharing 😇👍

Glass has not been used in headlights for many many years, it is all plastic now. - If you are lucky enough to have a classic car, don't mess around with it, pay for advise.
