Thanks for the comments :) . Yes it can be done on the B6, it depends on which type of steering module you have as to wether or not you need to run a wire from the engine ecu to the steering module or not.. if you have the correct module to suit cruise it’s a lot easier.. if you check out the links to rosstech site in the description it’s explained quite well 👍

Hi great video, I successfully fitted and coded my cruise and diss in following every step of this video 🙂. The only problem I have if anyone can help is I have a yellow traction light on the dash. I’ve driven it for a few days and the light still hasn’t gone off. I did use a different scrib when I did the installation. Any ideas? I have access to the same snap on tool you have. Thanks Andy

Hi Andy , glad you got it all installed mate 👌👍.. what fault codes have you got ? You may need to calibrate the steering angle sensor

Hi. Want to fit Audi genuine reverse parking sensors on B7. Sensors are already installed in the bumper but no wiring. Can you help with this? Many Thanks

My 2005 1.9tdi doesn't have the controls on the steering wheel so would I need to get a new steering wheel aswell as the cruise control and dis stalk.?

You wont need a new steering wheel, but you will need the module

Tried this on my b7. Picked up the correct modules, disconnected battery and swapped over. Nightmare started...steering angle sensor required calibrating which wouldnt seem to work, sussed that in the end but lost power steering. Followed all the rosstech stuff. Still got no power steering or cruise. Did reseach...go to 44 steering assist and set the level..easy (if you dont get an error 'no access'. If u want this doing take to a pro.

Hi DIYDaly, When changing the steering column control module, because mine was not compatible with cruise control from the factory, people talks about fitting a wire to the ECU? So i can't just simply change the steering column control module and follow the steps you do in this video, without adding new wires and such? Thank you in advance for your help

Hi Gustav is yours a b5 or b6..? If so you will need to run the wire to the ECU , I could find out what pin for you if need be.. if you have a B7 then then you just need the correct steering module

@@diydaly Mine is a A4 b6 from 2002. You describe a wire as "the wire"? What wire is that and what does it do?

It’s the cambus wiring between the ecu’s, tells steering module the speed clutch position etc. It needs running between them

Nice job easy to follow I have A4 b6 an I hava ful BC option but I don't have a Cruise Control and my modul is whit Q same as yours ... If I do the same as you to put a cruise control did I must cut a wire and conect on Spedometar as you are or not ?? You do this because of Cruise control or BC option ??

Thanks for the comments , much appreciated.. 👌👍, as you have full DIS I believe you shouldn’t need to cut and earth the wire.. the only reason for the wire being cut and earthed is to stop the washer fluid level warning coming up. I think the best thing you could do is fit the cruise control first and if you don’t have the warning come up then you won’t need to do the wire 👍

@@diydaly Hmm I see now whay you cut a wire 🤏 can't you just Shut down off in ECU mod or something I mean four Washup sensor lewel warning is'n that a Easy way ? Before this car I drive Laguna 2 😂😂Every time blink a service light 4 tire pressur sensor ....I just go to ECU mod end shot down that option ..

Haha bet you prefer the Audi to the Laguna! I’m not sure tbh , haven’t found an option yet to turn it off otherwise .. it is abit of a pain I Spose but it’s not too bad to do really and if you leave I decent length of wire it can easily be reconnected if need be at a later date 👍

@@diydaly yes Audi is much better but when you want to apgrade on laguna2 such as a cruise control it is much easy you dont need coding or doo such things just put on and job is done.. Speddometar on a4 you must go to ECU and confitm a cod on laguna just put on and work instantly no need to go in ECU modul ..My brother drive WV Golf VI he have a problem whit EGR valve ..he get a new one EGR Valve Piierburg germany he put on erase Service cod light and EGR still dont work ... he ned to put a new cod on ECU 4 new EGR an than it is work imagin that ...Audi VW it is the same gropu ...

My cruise control is installed and coded fine but it doesn’t register at the engine ecu and doesn’t register on the dash. Any ideas ?

Hi kris has it been coded in the engine ecu and the steering control module? I presume u mean the green light doesn’t come on the dash when you operate cruise? Thanks

Hi! After I activated DIS option in vcds, I got wash fluid error. How can this be resolved? Is it complicated to add the wash fluid sensor?

Hi yes this is a common issue , you can eather retro fit a washer fluid level sensor or do what I did and earth out one of the wires from the back of the dashboard and you won’t get the warning anymore.. if you watch through the video at around the 17min 30 point I run through the procedure 👌👍

I have a 2006 B7 3.0tdi and it has had cruise retro fitted, but on dis it just has distance to empty. What would I need to get the full dis working? Would it be just a replacement wiper stalk with the onboard computer button on end and coding with vcds? Thanks 😊

Yes mate you just need the stalk and then can update / change the coding to turn full DIS option on 👍

@@diydaly where are you based? Also I have a sensor on my windscreen wiper fluid bottle but I get no warning on dash when empty is this likely to be related to the cruise install?

I'm based in Louth Lincolnshire, yeah it could be to do with the install I needed to earth one of the wires out the back of the dash to take the washer bottle warning off when I did mine. unless you have a faulty sensor

Great video! I'm planning to do this on my B7 soon. I have VCDS and should be no problem. Only thing I'm a bit confused by is a comment on the Ross-Tech wiki regarding a wire that needs to be run from the steering wheel to the ECU? Quote: "Wire T16a/5 from steering column control module to engine control module (see wiring diagram specific your particular car/engine)" I've searched around for other descriptions of this and find nothing. Might be just for some engines/ECUs? I have an 1,9 TDI BKE engine. Do you have any experience with this?

Thanks for your comment 👌 . If yours is the B7 the wire should be pre installed so you won’t need to worry about it , that’s normally related to the B6’s 👍

If you put your cruise and it's not working, then you need to change the control module with new one who has pin inside him. Yours doesn't have.

I’m having issues with the wiper stalk, I swapped the old stock but kept the rest stalks the same but I can’t access the cluster menu? Can you help me out ?

I’ve not had any similar issues tbf.. the only thing I can think to try first would be to do a full code scan and make sure it hasn’t logged any faults in any of the other control modules that are disabling the function.. if so clear the fault codes and retry
