Hello :) The mounting instructions that you received were updated. So besides the video, the Armadillo Pipe Guard have now new mounting instructions. Thank you for the video! It's really good. 👌
Because of the bad instructions i´ve already broke the two parts where the screw is tight. In my opinion, i use it for 2 months now, the rubber is too soft, and because of that, a part is already missing in my pipe guard..... With the impact the trend is to get worst.... But is doing the job!
You don’t thread the hose clamps through the armadillo if you use the brackets. The brackets are only for quick detach. Install it directly with the hose clamps without the brackets
good tutorial and nice choice for guards. Not a CF fan at all, can transfer impact energy into manifolds and break them too. Those giant one piece skid/pipe guards are a mud collector too. Make sure to introduce yourself in the beginning! Enjoyed the content.
You only thread through the guard if you do not use the brackets. The brackets are for quick-removal because all that is holding are the three screws. If you thread the hose clamps through the part, no need for brackets
Sempre com videos porreiros para a malta! ;) Que tal está a aguentar a proteçao ao fim de quase um ano? E ja agora, como aguentou o balao com a proteçao? Continua com o bom trabalho! ;)
Which model did you get to fit your GasGas? I have a 2017 EC250. Rocky Mountain has no listing for the model for a GasGas. Hope someone at Polisport or someone can help.
it's the only model 😂 that product has only one size, a universal one to fit the pipes of all manufacturers! Maybe in RM they specify by manufacturer "color"?
@@marcanthonyangelofmercy616 oh ok! then if you want the red one, I guess you should put the cr 250! I can't give you a link to where I got it because it Polisport sent me directly for me to do a review 😅
Hey buddy, good video but you've mounted it incorrectly. The hoseclamps go on with the brackets to exhaust (dont thread them through the guard) then you screw guard on which enables easy removal for cleaning without undoing the clamps.
actually you can fasten it two ways! or like you said, which is a lot quicker to remove as clean de pipe, or through the guard, to be better secured! (I actually mounted it wrong because the pipe guard didn't come with any instructions, so I mounted it like I thought it should be) at the time I let Polisport know about it and in the meantime they answered to that issue and they now include a instruction sheet with both instalation ways! But thanks for the heads up! might be useful in another time I mess up 😂
@@StepstoPodium All good dude. The quick release for cleaning is my preferred method of attachment but is a bit risky because if you lose a bolt while riding the guard will start to fall off and flap around. A small amount of non permanent thread locker on the bolt threads should prevent this from happening.
You are mounting it wrong :) The whole idea with the brackets is that the pipe guard should be easy to remove , you should just put it through the bracket and not the pipe guard itselft. Then you can just remove it with 3 screws instead
Ummm that's actually not how they suppose to mount. There is no need for the little brackets that you put the screws into. Also your best off bending the tabs before installation as they flex back a bit if you try to do it when it's fitted. If you do use the brackets they are fitted different to that. The brackets are there for riders that want to remove these guards quick and easy, but again you need to fit them differently to that.
As a protection, it delivers. it even has a lot of potential to be a great protection in some circumstances (it can protect more than just plain metal). however, it still needs some improvements as a final product, mainly to be more durable.
You mounted the guard completely wrong 🤦♂️. The brackets are used if you want to quickly remove the guard. Also, you need to pre-bend and the tabs and guard and not afterwards.
I have had many different pipe guards. They all have been shitty except one. I have tried aluminium one that is mounted similar way as this polisport one. You basically mold it onto the shape of the pipe. That one didnt survive first crash and I also had big dent in pipe.I have also tried carbon fiber guard. That one was definitely better and more durable, but after few months it cracked at weird places. The problem with all those pipe guards that mount onto the pipe itself is that they put too much stress onto cylinder exhaust manufold(cylinder flange) when hit. So any pipe guard that is monted directly onto the pipe may result cracked cylinder flange. The best solution is to buy pipe guard and skid plate in one piecue. Usually those are undestructable and work perfect. There is almost no risk of breaking cylinder flange, because it is mounted onto the frame. However that type of guard is quite heavy and also lot of mud gets trapped inside. So I would rather not use any pipe guard or just use one with skid plate...
everything you said is absolutely true! There's no perfect solution at the moment, but hey, use what suits best for you. if you are a weight saver, go for the carbon fiber one, if your one of durability, go for the big skid/pipe guard, if you want something else, go for something else 😂
