At 60 I have transitioned over to gaited horses. I've been devouring your vids, I'm learning new things all the time, trying to find other gaited horse enthusiasts here in MN. I have a MFT and just purchased a RMH...both are excellent trail horses, but I'm never quite sure, when I'm in the saddle, if I'm doing a foxtrot vs anything else, other than it is smooth (so quite the learning curve for me) and we have fun. Anyway, haven't regretted my transitioning to gaited horses, love these two horses, they can walk slow with the QHs on the trail, or we can step out and have a little zoom.

Wonderful! So glad you are enjoying going gaited! It takes time to develop feel for the gaits under saddle, as long as its smooth, just have fun!

True, me, too. Gaited horses (except from the standardbred, but not for riding - nobody has any clue they have a distinct gait) are totally unknown here and I'm very grateful for your videos. Greetings and all the best from Slovenia 🇸🇮

Interesting comments regarding the purchase of a purebred versus a grade gaited horse. Would you consider purchasing a gaited horse at an auction?

Depends on the seller, there are good and bad ones on the auctions, and the vet checks well many are not real vet checks, so you have to be very careful. And alway best to ride the horse and make sure you get along before buying.
