Love your videos, and this one as well. For me as someone who's joined this sport late in life, around the age of 50, riding technique is something that requires lots of practice, and coming to elements to session is part of that. I've come to love it, and I find that it brings a lot of creativity and joy to trails that would otherwise get to be boring after I've ridden them hundreds of times. BTW, riding a trail in the opposite direction is another way to enjoy the same area. Of course, it should be done with extreme caution.

It's SO cool to hear that you've gotten into it! Every piece definitely takes lots of practice, from the simple techniques to the complex tricks. And you're right, it's always good to switch things up! Thanks for being here with us! Keep ripping!

Thank you so much amigo! I love to hear folks are getting into this stuff later in life, although not easy, it's so rad to learn, grow & challenge ourselves constantly & bikes definitely provide that! haha. So rad to hear your finding the Joy Ride out there on stuff you've ridden a ton as well, there's a skatepark I ride at minimum once a week, for the last 15 years & I feel that same way - so fun to try & still approach it with an open mind or a different direction. Stay RAD! -Mike

love these videos where you’re out with friends talking through what you see and what you decide to try! also appreciate how you get real about different skill and experience levels and encourage everyone to get out there and push ourselves to whatever's next for us. my home trailhead is just a mile and a half from my house and i'm getting out there tonight! the next feature i want to hit is a wall on top of the berm at the end of the skills trail. the whole trail is pretty short so i usually hit it 3 times in a row, but maybe i should up that! trying to get over my habit of braking a lot between the last jump and the berm so i can get onto the wall with enough speed to ride most of it.

Heck yeah! It's all about that repetition, so it's cool to hear that you're getting that in. Have fun out there! Thanks for tuning in with us.

most people just like to ride from A to B , get.a workout in , and call it a day. sessioning isnt what most people want to do, so i do it alone

Totally & I 100% understand that piece of it. But dang, playing in the woods on your bikes is so much fun!! Nothin' wrong w/ doing it solo, either!

Just 2 days ago I sessioned for the first time ever, on bits of a trail I've been riding for 2 years. For one cornerI've discovered a new line that improved speed and comfort. On one 180° right hander around a tree stump and some nasty roots, right after you go through a short but deep gully, I just couldn't find the line to make the corner. Maybe next time. 😊

No kidding?! That's so rad to hear. The more you session, the more you unlock - on the trail & in skills. All love!

It always helps to stop and take a look at those technical features! Hope you can spend some more time with that right hand switch back and get it! Thanks for sharing!

I have taken a course, we did this a lot. I think you need to plan to do this, just out for a ride some people do not want to do things like teaching/learning. From my class, we are planning to go do our own sessions now that the formal class work is over. It helps, changing roles and having the student become the teacher by helping someone else is great.

It's definitely a type of ride you should plan before you go out, however I've found myself & my friends sessioning stuff without that being the objective a ton! But our main style of riding, BMX, is built upon the session so that's probably why. haha.

Haha that's rad! Getting down is definitely the primary goal, isn't it? Picking better lines should help make whatever trail so much easier and more fun!
