Hey I have a quick question about the spacers does it only have one spacer that goes on the left side where the belt is and on the right side does the arm that extends out of the caliper considered as the spacer for that side?
@TwoWheelRocco
@TwoWheelRocco Месяц назад
Take a moment and look at the video at 8:35 and you will see us slimmer, spacer, and the caliper arm. The slimmer spacer goes to closest to the wheel and then the caliper on usually you wanna install the caliper arm and then slide the spacer in there. It's like a quarter inch thick check it out on the video. Hope this helps. Let us know how it works out.

Just got my 1st Road King. Gonna try saving $$ by DIY maintenance. Found and watched 3 of your video's already. Love them all :) You have a clear concise way of teaching that even this regular average C+ southern boy can understand. I feel way more confident in success after watching them. I enjoyed them all. Questions : a) You said the one axle nut (?) is a 35mm. Is the opposite nut the same 35mm ? b) Have you ever noticed a headlamp lens or windshield that wasn't so clear anymore ? What would you suggest ? c) Is it hard to change a kickstand ? Any pointers / cautions ? Thanks for your generous sharing and consideration, Steph (Stephen) Leesville, LA.

@TwoWheelRocco 3 месяца назад
Happy to help. You need to really check if it's the old style bearings and you're torquing, let's say like a new bike. you're going to have problems. Needs to be a little tolerance. On those older bikes with the old school bearings. What year wheel did you buy. Usually what I do is measure everything out. Is there a spacer in there you have to think about it if it was a new bearing the steel tubes all locked up you can never have a problem if it's an old style bearing you can have problems it will bind. I hope that helps. Let us know how it works out, thank you for watching. Ride safe and have a great day. Solid bearings have a talk of 110 pounds on that retire but it's a 1 inch axle. @TwoWheelRocco
@TwoWheelRocco 2 года назад
Happy to help. I installed that spacer last so I have room on the Brakes side to install the caliper in the groove and then go back lower it a little bit remove the 1/2 pipe that you have in there put that spacer in there so I would say last for that spacer. Hope this helps. Thank you for watching and all your support barefoot Bob. Ride safe and have a great

@@TwoWheelRocco Thank you my friend. That is what I thought but I was really struggling with it so was thinking might be a secret besides swearing at it lol. Well I will go back at it now I have cooled down. Thanks again Without you're video I would not even attempted this job. It all went well except for that last spacer.

@@TwoWheelRocco Thank you finished it today. A bit more of a struggle than you had but got her done. Need a better jack it kept rolling out of place and dropping the wheel. And you're right that brake caliper can be a c _ _ t but just kept fiddling and got it

@@TwoWheelRocco Hi Rocco I was able to finagle the spacer in by working the jack and pivoting the caliper. I had a flat and rode it 10 miles home. Luckily I have my own Coats tire machine and was able to fix everything my self. Still, this is not a half hour job. I have over a quarter million miles on three Harleys but never liked doing the rear tire on the road king. Your video was very helpful. The newer Harleys have a rear caliper that disassembles. I can see why. Stay safe.
@TwoWheelRocco
@TwoWheelRocco Год назад
Yes the removable caliper make it a lot easier. Harley should've figured that one out better. But with the newer bikes they did do better. Happy all went well. Ride safe and have a great day. Those wheels are a pain. Gotta do the right spacers at the right time. Nothing lines up easy if not. 1/2 steel rod helps a lot.

Happy to help same thing measure from the rear of the jam nut. How far the adjustment is on both sides and return it to that when you put it back together, take a look at your bell and see how it is. That's all the same but a little different. Thank you for watching and all your support. Ride safe and have a great day. Let us know how it works out. Unfortunately.
